The turret baskets either need their functionality disabling while a complete rework is done, or they just need removing from the game.
They were clearly added as a nerf to the leopards and Abrams, they’ve done it to other vehicles too though, the falcon has a solid turret basket which is enormous.
I just wish they were honest about it, rather than making dubious claims, implementing stuff in the most amateur way possible and then just ignoring the problems they created for years.
It was well on it’s way to being ARB 2.0 before then with all the maverick and paveway spam, the pantsir slowed it down a fair bit, but of course instead of giving other nations pantsir equivalents they went and added the KH-38s.
They seem to only add all this stuff like turret basket and other modules to light tanks, which you can easily kill anyway, add them to the things that make an impact on the battle please gaijin. Yeah it’s such an annoying balancing measures bc I swear I never hit anything in the Japanese tanks from the side. like do anything please.
100% after what Gaijin did regarding the detailed modules of Russian tanks its an absolute joke that only 2 tanks have to suffer from the terrible modeling of the baskets
Such a joke
meanwhile the soviet autoloader soak up damage and the ammo wont detonate. lets not fool ourselves. the turret basket introduction was a nerf to certain tanks. simple as
What? Why nerf turret rotation speed when its accurate to real life? They already nerfed the reload speed, should be like around the 4 to 4.5sec mark. But they nerfed it ages ago.
The C2 does not have a turret basket. Theres multiple images.
I believe the reason the Challenger 2 doesn’t have a turret basket is because when they were thinking about the C2 in the 90s, the UK MOD testes the Abrams. They stated the Abrams has an 80% fire risk if hit from the side due to all the Hydraulics that runs through and around the turret basket, additionally the chances of the tank being able to fight back would be lower.
From what i know, This is the reason the C2 uses an electricity operated revolving floor where the Charge Bins, Spall Liners, seats and everything else effectively make up the walls. It just turns in accordance with the turret.
So effectively, the basket is in the hull, just not a basket. Imagine a big circular floor, the walls are made of the charge bins, seat, spall liners, boxes, railings. We can see from images of Chieftain theres a big ring that circles around the top if the hull roughly at the top level of the charge bins. I believe the electrics and hydraulics run under the floor towards the back of the hull between the charge bins and engine’s, this is just guessing from looking at chieftain and 1 or 2 pics of C1. Theres not much evidence to suggest the proper layout or how it actually is for C2.
Personally i dont see this changing. With the constant nerfs that seem to hit western countries and the constant buffs thats hit either russia or china i dont see them implementing anything that would improve the situation.
I find it unfortunate that Stona closed two of the discussions without giving much of any reason. As well, it’s unfortunate that Gaijin decided to temporarily disable the FCS on eastern tanks until more get them, but hasn’t done so for the Abrams or Leo. (To my knowledge, this still hasn’t changed months later either). These systems should only be applied once all top-tier nations are affected.
Yeah, I am not fully sure and did just assume they went with the same system as the chally 1, but I wasn’t sure bc I have heard some people say it does have one. Those people being former tankers, but they might not know how it exactly works
