Troll squads

Generally means generally, not specific. ;-)
And the game means the game, not the mode.

It’s not even in general as GAB, GRB and ARB don’t really benefit from infinite respawns unlike AAB.

And you’re free to that opinion. But i do not agree with you. I’ve personally experienced multiple occasions of a lower BR vehicle being spawned in and in one occasion it started with our team going: “protect the child!” in chat and everyone came together to try to help that player get the God Mode achievement and celebrating when they eventually managed to get it as everyone kept trying to assist them by disabling the enemies. (GRB for clarification)

If that isn’t positivity and happy players i don’t know what is.

Where did i say this? Where in my post did i mention one death leaving at the same time? I in fact mentioned the exact opposite:

You are talking about an archivement (god mode).
Just rephrase what you meant to say instead of moving the goalposts around.

So all 15 players decided to help the “child” and not a single one was annoyed ?

Just because you can spawn multiple times doesn’t mean players will do that, so what they do with their first and only spawn matters even more.

They could also die and spawn a Stuart next, so would that be griefing ?

Infinite spawns was so oppressive in GAB when it existed, that it caused the 3 spawn limit.
Though in reality it should be a 5 spawn limit, as 5 is the maximum number of free to play slots you can have.

Either way, the worst case is a team abandons their prop entirely and that’s 1 less aircraft to rely on pressuring the enemy.

Cause say what you will about lower BR planes, every time my friend brought one out, he pressured the enemy team better than the jets present.

@QTip_44
I’ve amended a number of my posts.

Talking about the God Mode achievement in a thread that has Realistic Battle tag in it.
You’re the one trying to force Arcade into it for some weird reason.

Yea, I definitely agree Reserve tier crop dusters can pressure Rafales into submission.

Not in chat at the very least. I won’t claim that no player got annoyed as not everyone was typing in chat. But then again, i’ve seen players get annoyed at really weird things in War Thunder.

That is a separate issue in my opinion.

Again, i don’t think that word means what you think it means.

Removing Godmode from Warthunder is a massive income nerf. To restrict squad difference to 4BR would remove Godmode from air RB effectively, as it could no longer be obtained. The other modes could still make use of it.

So if there were some players that weren’t really “on board” with that idea, you basically griefed them out of their own enjoyment when you did that. Not everyone enjoys the “funni” and “child protection”.

This is a perfectly valid reason to get annoyed at.

Sorry but I know very well what griefing is.
Join a top tier game, spawn in a M22, die, spawn in a Stuart, die and then finally spawn in a M13 to top it off before leaving.

This is textbook griefing as you intentionally reduced the chances for your team’s success.
In theory, whole team could do this and the match would just look like crap at that point.

Join a top tier game, spawn in a fighter with full bomb loadout, rush a base, die.

Welcome to warthunder ‘realistic’ air.

No, that word doesn’t mean what you think it means.

You are free to that opinion.

Describe to me what the word griefing means in generalized terms not connected to War Thunder.

In online gaming: the action or an act of deliberately spoiling other players’ enjoyment of a game by playing in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating.

(zillions of electrons can’t be wrong)

To be devil’s advocate -

God mode was made when BR/rank system was different

and,

In some game modes it can be achieved without griefing or significant loss of match impact (e.g.: I regularly see F4U-1s in 5.7 games in sim doing just fine. They use the F4U-1 for historical gameplay reasons.)

Still way more impact to the match than spawning in a crop duster, arriving to the furball 3 hours late just to get your cheeks utterly destroyed by a gang of Rafales.

It pretty much does.

Another poster just replied to you.

Correct, some key words in there:

In online gaming: the action or an act of deliberately spoiling other players’ enjoyment of a game by playing in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating .

If they do it for the achievement it isn’t griefing. If they do it because they do not have other vehicles available to add in their lineup and no other options to spawn in it isn’t griefing.

For a long time there were BR-ranges in a couple of nations where there were no other option than to bring a much lower BR anti air for example.

The act of spawning a lower BR vehicle on its own isn’t griefing as there isn’t inherently any malice tied to that action.

It’s also much easier to achieve in GRB than air RB by a large margin. An M24 can be taken to 8.7+ and hunt light tanks with some success, but you can’t take a P-51C to 8.3 and expect the same thing.

IMO I’d add a +/- 2.0 or 3.0 BR spread at most for air RB. GRB should be kept as is, but require squad members to have atleast 1 vehicle within 7.0 BRs of the top BR in the squad lineup. Air sim can remain as is.
