Not in chat at the very least. I won’t claim that no player got annoyed as not everyone was typing in chat. But then again, i’ve seen players get annoyed at really weird things in War Thunder.
That is a separate issue in my opinion.
Again, i don’t think that word means what you think it means.
Removing Godmode from Warthunder is a massive income nerf. To restrict squad difference to 4BR would remove Godmode from air RB effectively, as it could no longer be obtained. The other modes could still make use of it.
So if there were some players that weren’t really “on board” with that idea, you basically griefed them out of their own enjoyment when you did that. Not everyone enjoys the “funni” and “child protection”.
This is a perfectly valid reason to get annoyed at.
Sorry but I know very well what griefing is.
Join a top tier game, spawn in a M22, die, spawn in a Stuart, die and then finally spawn in a M13 to top it off before leaving.
This is textbook griefing as you intentionally reduced the chances for your team’s success.
In theory, whole team could do this and the match would just look like crap at that point.
In online gaming: the action or an act of deliberately spoiling other players’ enjoyment of a game by playing in a way that is intentionally disruptive and aggravating.
God mode was made when BR/rank system was different
and,
In some game modes it can be achieved without griefing or significant loss of match impact (e.g.: I regularly see F4U-1s in 5.7 games in sim doing just fine. They use the F4U-1 for historical gameplay reasons.)
Still way more impact to the match than spawning in a crop duster, arriving to the furball 3 hours late just to get your cheeks utterly destroyed by a gang of Rafales.

If they do it for the achievement it isn’t griefing. If they do it because they do not have other vehicles available to add in their lineup and no other options to spawn in it isn’t griefing.
For a long time there were BR-ranges in a couple of nations where there were no other option than to bring a much lower BR anti air for example.
The act of spawning a lower BR vehicle on its own isn’t griefing as there isn’t inherently any malice tied to that action.
It’s also much easier to achieve in GRB than air RB by a large margin. An M24 can be taken to 8.7+ and hunt light tanks with some success, but you can’t take a P-51C to 8.3 and expect the same thing.
IMO I’d add a +/- 2.0 or 3.0 BR spread at most for air RB. GRB should be kept as is, but require squad members to have atleast 1 vehicle within 7.0 BRs of the top BR in the squad lineup. Air sim can remain as is.
It pretty much is as that achievement is incentivizing griefing, which is absurd.
You’re deliberately spawning in a M22 in a top tier game, which is obviously disruptive to your team and causes aggravation.
You doing it for the achievement or not, it doesn’t really matter to your teammates as they’ll still be on the receiving end of your intentional decisions and thus will get annoyed by your critical lack of sportsmanship.
Yes, bringing the best thing the game allows you to bring isn’t griefing as you had no other choice. I doubt M22 or Stuart are your only choices when playing top tier US lol.
Ah yeah, just act confused and hope it’ll go away.
Like you being a goalkeeper in a football match but with a twist that you’re only sitting down for the whole duration. You don’t need to have any malice tied to that action in order to be griefing your team, as you obviously had no intentions to do (or spawn the best thing) your best in that game.
New player buys premium top tier tank, brings all available options to spawn.
Incorrect, yes you do, that is the entire meaning of the word semantically.
I will not sit here and pretend that it doesn’t effect the team as a whole negatively (but so does spawning in a stock vehicle). But calling it griefing is just objectively wrong. The word HAS TO have intentional malice tied to the action for it to apply. Words have meaning for a reason.
I think most of the participants seem to agree on a BR range reduction for squads in air RB. If someone wants to fight jets in biplanes, arcade is the place to do that.
Still really bad as dying drains your team’s tickets and opponents gain SP.
Your chances of ending that spawn in a net positive for your team are extremely small.
Also, players who do that but have whole TT researched is simply inexcusable.
Doesn’t take a genius to figure out you sitting in a goal or spawning a Reserve tier tank in a top tier game isn’t a normal human behavior and is nothing more than a rage bait.
Stock vehicle is forced on you, sitting in the goal as a goalkeeper for the whole match isn’t.
Proving malice is objectively impossible in most cases.
Yeah, I’m sitting down in my goal because I like to eat dirt off of my shoes while in an active game of football. I’m definitely not doing it to rage bait people and it’s definitely not “intentionally malicious”.
In my area you’d be very likely to get a kiss on the cheek for that “funni” and totally unintentional turn of events, as everyone would be amazed by your ingenuity to create “funni” mishaps.
