Topic about Japan adds T-84 and VT-4

then this is the first time, if what u’r referring to is true. I’m not aware of the history of this forum. Doesn’t mean the discussion here and elsewhere about VT4 is not important to people.

I understand this but reason is stupid.
I do not have anything against Chinese players but this is unfair to Thai players and anyone who wants to play Thai tanks.

I’ve heard that before over the past few days. And, I don’t find it “stupid”, if u choose to put it that way.

The point is to not add VT4 to the japanese tree, not that to not add the Thai VT4 at all. That’s why gaijin responded with this letter: 战争雷霆团队致中国社区的一席话 to the discussion about “No Chinese vehicles added to the Japanese tech tree”: 请不要在后续更新中向日系科技树添加中系载具

But where to add this tank when Thai subbtre is being added to Japanese tree?

One solution is to push gaijin to have an independent tech tree for ASEAN nations, which is also discussed in this channel (see earlier posts). U can also visit 关于整合泛亚科技树 for more discussion.

I understand, I just think that adding more and more copy-paste trees to game isn’t good idea. Especially when GJ decided to add subtrees, especially to nations that do not have many of their own tanks.

This guy @NFrost51 already has some very good ideas. And, it seems possible to build an entire independent ASEAN tech tree without too much copy-pasting, at least for high tiers:

Here is his original post: ASEAN Founders Ground Sub-Tree - #389 by NFrost51. Also, in that channel, there are a lot of discussion on how to avoid simple copy-pasting. Many valuable suggestions. With all the discussion in there, I think having an independent tech tree for ASEAN nations is quite solid

I feel like this would be problematic for the game.

Subtrees have been established by other nations and set performance standards all factions should meet to be viable and future proof.
If the Thai subtree is removed from the Japanese tree, and with an ASEAN tree also the other two subtree options of Indonesia and the Philippines, then what would be left is a nation that struggles to keep up with a nation like Britain even without other Commonwealth nations.
So for such a move to be fair the entire game needs to be changed and most current subtrees removed or turned into independent trees like BeNeLux and India. This would again negatively affect even mpre nations in the process.

This could work, but it is also still a massively fundamental change that essentially boils down to one nation having an issue with one tank operated by another nation.

I think the best option is instead to improve the existing subtree system to allow for similar national identity for all nations, but still allow for the same shared lineups that are possible now.

The issue as I’ve seen it presented is that the VT-4 is added to a Japanese subtree → implying it is indirectly under Japan.

But in a reworked system, there is no main- or subtrees, only nations. Japan is just one nation next to Thailand. They can still cooperate, but they don’t have to. The VT-4 wouldn’t be under Japan, since Thailand wouldn’t be under Japan.

I agree with u. I think ur idea:

is perhaps the easiest to implement. less work for gaijin developers as well.

I know, I’m just saying the only change that I’d accept under the current systems is an ASEAN tree. But again, unrealistic.

Its refreshing to discuss with someone that has arguments.

Its not a bad idea but GJ wont create this tree without making it copy-paste spam…
Also IIRC GJ stated that they do not want to add mixed trees like this one. They want trees built on top on single nation with bonus small nations.
And there is other problem, there are nations like Japan that do not have to many tanks and they would benefit from addition of subtrees. And now we already have Thai vehicles in Japan TT its kinda too late to change this.

If VT-4 is not allowed to be added to the Thai subtree then remove all Japanese vehicles from the Chinese tree aswell. It’s only fair like that. And no, there is no ASEAN tree in consideration and never will be, stop coping about this. War Thunder has never added trees like that despite making more sense (no Visegrád4 tree is ridiculous), they will not change their mind about that anytime soon with the subtree system already in place.

For most players it doesn’t. You need to remember WT is not a regional serving model game (in other word, it is a game facing world wide players), that means the devs can’t be double standards and breaking their owns rules just to handle some countries’ minor political taboos that caused by a historical event almost 100 years ago.

there’s no political element. only delusions from one side and it’s a literal nothingburger when you try to find a logic behind it.

Did China sell VT-4 tanks to Thailand? Yes.
Did Gaijin add introduce Thailand as a subtree to Japan? Yes.

Naturally, Thai vehicles that is introduced to game will be under Japanese tech tree AS THAILAND VEHICLES. China still has it’s own VT-4, Thailand will have it’s own but it will be accessible by Japanese tech tree.

This is just a game, not some sort of political arena where nations clash. Literal pixels fighting pixels which are controlled by some person behind a device and nothing else.

Do note that China never even used the VT-4 in service and they already have the A1 version in TT, which is the same thing but better. This is the same situation as was with KF-41, Germany didn’t get it because it was for export only. For some reason China has special rights when it comes to this.

Is this all it needs for Gaijin to change the game? around 800 negative reviews and a bunch of nonsense yelling. The western audience should be doing the same then I reckon? Giving into demands of the chinese playerbase is going to just make them understand if they’re loud enough they can do this again.

That is why I think we can’t allow Gaijin bow down to them, they success this time will causing infinite trouble for the future

They already did that with the failed boycott a few years ago, that resulted in player numbers actually increasing during the boycott, the negative low-effort steam reviews being removed. Yet they still bowed down and implemented widespread economic changes. While these changes have been good for the most part, it does show that if you crack up a stink - Gaijin will look after their bottom line.

China give gajin 99.99999% of ther money, we must listen to them without question
But I’m almost completely sure that they only buy their own equipment and flags to stick on all other equipment

Simply put, since gaijin has previously made a commitment to ensure that no Chinese made vehicles will be added to the Japanese camp, gaijin has an obligation to abide by its commitment to players rather than tentatively opening up relevant topics to test the bottom line of the Chinese player community. Considering that similar news has been released before, we can think that some people in Gaijin may deliberately break their own commitment to add Chinese made vehicles to the Japanese camp by confusing concepts. In this regard, Chinese players have the right to safeguard their rights on the Internet. It should be noted that if the unofficial leaked content involving Chinese vehicles joining the Thai sub technology tree affiliated with Japan’s camp is realized, all the adverse consequences caused by this will be borne by the individuals and collectives who promoted this incident.
