You CAN! That’s the thing. Sit still and snipe, it’s the best tactic of them all. Make small pushes forward, and stomp the other team. The Abrams is great for defensive play. Sit hull down and use your reload and thermals to get both the first and second shot of first.
This is also the most common tactic, everyone sits and snipes except on brawling maps on top-tier, like cmon man.
we were talking abt autocannons and ww2 veichles, any modern apfsds will one tap up there on any tank (2a7, strv, bvm, abrahams, type 10 etc etc.)

I own both the M1A2 and Leopard 2A7. The 2A7 is objectively better in mobility, armor, and firepower. They shouldn’t be the same BR. The Abrams has far more weak points as well.
Sniping doesn’t work if the enemy gets the caps. Maps also aren’t very good for sniping either.
Would be easier with armor, but the Abrams and Merkava are cardboard.
With the 2A7, I can easily manage, but the Abrams and Merkava can’t even take an autocannon.
Yes, but only due to the Reload. The issue is that the Abrams is sluggish and not very fast. The 11.7 Abrams doesn’t get around quickly and the SEP V2 is objectively one of the worst top tier tanks in the game.
Not many places to do that and a Leopard will always be better in a hull down position.

They don’t actually. Russian Mains are especially prone to zooming around corners, which would be an easy kill if their Relikt bags didn’t eat DM53 often.
Almost every map is a brawling map. And what if your tank doesn’t have the capacity to sit and snipe? The Merkava can’t take a hit at all and cannot penetrate past the breach on Leopards when you hit their mantlet. The lack of spall liners is also harsh since you can’t just absorb damage like everything else. You also only have 7 degrees of gun depression, which is only slight better than a T-80.
