Currently, enemy tags function almost like an official wallhack.
Getting pre-shot through terrain or clouds because someone else or even an NPC plane spotted me is just bs. Situations like that leave no time to react and feel completely unfair.
Edit: as it already was mentioned before, top tier ARB should have same conditions as in GRB since everyone at that point can use good radars to find enemies.
And if someone activates hunt voucher or match is near the end with fewer players left, then there can appear just a red square on the map indicating where enemy might be, just like this red square works now.
Could make a change but with current render distance it could give some sitiatiln where you get shit by someone without even seeing him. If they fix spotting +1
I play with m&k using relative controls and it’s very similar to RB, especially regarding the fine movements needed for accurate gunnery. Just gotta invert the Y axes of pitch and camera and it becomes really easy, plus you also have SAS damping in later jets :)
I don’t get at all why people bother to make threads about this. They all tend to flock to top tier gameplay and forget about the entire other range of BRs below it.
No. Air RB is built around markers as a whole. Go play SIM if you don’t like them.
Besides, removing markers would be a major degradation to the mode as a whole.
Problem is that a change to a specific BR ends up affecting the entire mode, and there is quite a bit more than missile thunder to be played.
No, it absolutely would not. Killing what makes air rb what it is just ruins the mode. Rendering, clouds, time of day, weather. These all destroy any possibility of good gameplay with no markers. Most of the aircraft at all BRs bar missile thunder are DAY FIGHTERS with NO equipment to support combat in those conditions. Not to mention that the game is a 16 vs 16, meaning missing one guy costs you your life. You massively lower the skill ceiling by removing markers.
There is nothing good that comes out of removing markers in a mode built around them. Understand that.
Like i said, there’s the problem of the change winding up affecting everything. It’s analogous to multipath not being different between missile types or even RB/SB.
If nothing else. I want to see a 2+ week long test event to try it out for real, under actual ARB conditions. And not just top tier, but a decent range of BRs
Kinda agree since alot of War Thunder players dont really have good rigs (me for example.) Some dots render at a distance sure, but some don’t. And the game is unreliable enough that the dot doesn’t even render until we’re close.
Edit:
I’m not against the idea, but implementing this IN the current landscape of 16v16’s and unreliable teams that don’t communicate enough? I might as well make mock dogfights in Kerbal Space Program lol.
Well it is a needed mode or perma event…
I’d dare to say new mode , only for over 10.0 BR or something, where planes in general have radar and possibly with its own BR range that takes on account radar as well.
Having good radar in reality is a big thing. Maybe one of the most import things in air combat.
