Tools using data provided on port 8111

Oops, accidentally removed that post. I’ll repost

Then remove it. Update your terms of service. How is someone supposed to find this information. Go diving through old forum posts?

Terms of service are clear enough:

6.1. The following behavior constitutes unsporting conduct and is explicitly prohibited hereunder:

6.1.3. Installation or usage of unauthorized modifications to the Game client, using cheats or other software or devices that modify a Game process and/or original images produced by the Game (including the modification of a Game interface) to obtain an advantage in a Game without explicit authorization from Gaijin.

6.1.4. Other actions that violate the principle of fair play.

Guess what an aimbot does: An “addition” of info to help identify and aim at players that others don’t have…

I mean, common sense maybe? Knowing the position of the enemy team when you’re not supposed to is kind of a red flag, don’t you think.

Also, judging by Stona’s post, the way you use the data needs to be looked at on a case by case basis, so you’ll have to interpret the TOS in its entirety, not only looking if something is explicitly allowed or disallowed .

This doesn’t do this.

Nor this.

Technically this isn’t War Thunder’s interface

Putting information at 8111 and then not allowing it’s use is very confusing.

Addition as in we are adding to the content on the screen

why are you not talking of this one, maybe cause this addon isn’t fair ?

Exactly.

Info that’s you’re not supposed to have on the screen in this game mode.

But you do have it, the game provides it.

Everyone can use it, how is it not fair.

No, the 3rd party software provides it on your HUD.

No, it’s literally the game that provides the info

It isn’t though, is it? If it would be provided by the game, you wouldn’t need a third party software to overlay the info on your HUD.

if the addition is not proposed by the game itself, it cannot be used by everyone, making your assertion is forgetting console players for whom making this type of modification is much more complicated

It’s not drawn by the game, but it’s provided by it

@Vonarian what do you think, seeing as you have more technical know-how

Haha, maybe because for me this would be considered most obvious!

Okay, so player A somehow sees targets on his screen that others have to switch to map view to target.

Yes, that IS unfair.

Let’s look at a concrete example: I fly an A-10 and struggle to find those last pesky 105mm ATG’s. I see them on the map, but they’re hard to spot from the cockpit…

So hey, presto, use that script and see those guns nicely marked, if not in elevation, then at least their azimuth…

No, it doesn’t provide it in the cockpit view, only in a separate, abstract view you have to switch to, not as direct overlay!

It’s SIM we’re talking about here. If you’re so set on using a RB-style overlay, why not play RB?

Sure console players can’t have it drawn on their screen, but can have it on their phone, laptop or something else

If you are so set that this info shouldn’t be available, why not remove it?

People are trying to compare this to an “Aimbot”, it’s not an aimbot.

If we are to draw any comparisons, this exploit would be comparable to something like the types of wall hack we see in other games:

It also goes against the whole nature of the simulator battles difficulty. Looking at OP’s post, it’s also pretty clear he’s a Zomber.

It should not be allowed.
