The Tu-4 needs to be rethought (br)

I manage to shoot it down in quite a lot of 5.0-6.0 props in an overtier. Hard but definitely possible; a few shots, and then it basically disintegrates into a million pieces.

I went through this quote throughly in this thread:

also an interesting tidbit is that the tu4 actually has a significantly worse flight performance than the b29. Most people think they are identical but nope. Its a combination of the slightly worse engines with completely different thermal profiles, and the higher dry mass, and probably extra drag or something. But ive tested it and tu4s max alt is about 10k ft/ 3048m lower than the b29s. Climbrate is also noticeably weaker.

that’s true

B-29 / Washington B.Mk.I are sent to 6.7

Tu-4 and Tu-4(China) can drop to 7.3

only way a tu-4 can see below 6.7 is that if the Tu-4K is added, which had no defensive armament and was made for anti shipping duties.

Spoiler

also it could carry a KS-1 Komet which is a mig-15 turned into a missile

TU-4 should only ever be 1 br step above the b-29s

We’ve already talked about this. And I showed you plenty of evidence in

Where the .50 cals and 23mms aren’t worlds apart.

They’re both pretty even overall in capability, play style, etc.

1 br step is generous to the B-29 because realistically they should be the same br.

The defensive armament is slightly better on the TU-4 and that’s all.

And you already came here to drop your take on the Tu-4

One shot 1 kill on any part of an aircraft vs needs to nail a pilot for an instant kill or set the plane on fire, in which you can still be shot down.

i spaded it in like 2 matches lol

But it’s not a “one shot kill” from a 23mm.

The Tu-4 can carry more overall bomb weight with more payload options than the B-29 and Washington B. Mk. 1.

Even the Chinese Tu-4 can carry incendiary bombs.

sure make a lie rq to “save” your point.

because even then I can add the 23mm will easily chain the second blow needed to kill it because it has the NR-23 with a firerate of 900RPM vs the M2 50cal with a firerate of 750
Tu-4
B-29
Even if Both the NR-23 and the M2 weren’t so far in terms of damage, according to the lie you just dropped to screw over a non-USSR vehicle again, NR-23 skill comes out on top

oh did I mention B-29’s powerplants are weaker too? maybe a 0.7 gap will work better
Tu-4
B-29

Yeah def only a 0.7 difference will work, same BR difference can be seen in a similar case which early and late Ki-49 models since both defensive armament and powerplants are improved.

So Tu-4 = 7.3
And B-29 = 6.7

You do understand a 148hp difference is pretty much nothing for an aircraft…

And I posted a video regarding the “one shot” capability you mentioned, which took about 4-8 rounds per kill.

Yeah the HP does not matter as much when you factor in the Tu-4’s increased weight. Even with the best HP statistics that calculate the engines at 2400HP, the TU-4 has a 9% power increase with a 13% weight increase over the B-29. It also does help to use a Tu-4 with all the modules on it to compare.

If someone has a spaded B-29 to compare with this. (I’ll try to spade it right now)

Seeing how you completely ignored my point about the differences in firerate and completely ignored the video about the Tu-4 clapping enemy planes already posted on this thread.

Your video still shows that after the m2 sets an enemy on fire the B-29 is not yet on the clear.

Also you never showed us the belts on neither the M2 and NR-23, since sure, NR-23 and M2 ain’t so far apart, if you compare the AP rounds, the moment the FI-T shows up it justs falls in favour of the 23.

Stop trying to push your agenda to make non-USSR aircraft not viable, it is so painfully obvious that trying to convince you is worthless and you only kill thread after thread.

You can’t even accept a buff unless it comes at the cost of screwing over a random non-soviet vehicle.

The Tu-95 thread justs how you throw a perfect chance to buff 4 AIRCRAFT, INCLUDING SOVIET ONES, just because “no red star = no happy”

Only if aircraft skin was properly shown on the armor page, because the Tu-4 has thinner skin than the B-29. Even with thinner skin, it still was a fat faux B-29

I don’t think it is even simulated anymore, and in cases it is, it’s probably because they are legacy models…

I believe it’s still simulated, but is just not something we actually can physically see on a hit cam. Even the old wiki after revisions says its simulated.

Well I hope we can see it someday.
surely it won’t come since it would prob expose some absurd stuff on rushed aircraft because the default thickness wasn’t changed, we all know how gaijin avoids responsibility.

Well yeah the disconnect between the modeling and people who apply armor thickness sometimes are not on the same page. For instance, the Bhishma T-90’s dozer blade should be of a variable thickness, especially where there is significant overlap of the material from the mounting points and the blade. This effects plenty of other dozers as well.
