KH38 built-in thermals are worse than tank gen1 thermals, and has very low zoom, making it very bad at long range missile attacks… might be because i play in Ultra Low Quality, but the Thermals of the KH38 do NOT highlight targets, it’s all grey, haven’t tested it when playing on medium or high config.
And the built-in targeting pod of the SU34 has much better zoom, but no thermals at all.
I suggest giving SU34 a thermal pod, and buffing NATO AGMs so everyone can be happy :)
They wont be happy. Beeecause of pantsir. Beeecause Russia has ERA. Adats bad spaa. Fix clickbait turret ring. Give usa 800+ penetration bullet. But tiger uht havent turret. But tornado is flying brick. But brimstones should be fire and forget. Etc etc.
That is a YOU problem and YOUR settings problem, not the missile problem. Thermal sights still show tanks in white. You can look at any amount of videos that show the optics of Kh38MTs missile in warthunder and you will see that they all see enemy tanks in white. Barracuda camo netting and its thermal signature reduction effect has not been implemented in warthunder so you not seeing tanks as white on grey background is a problem only present for you.
Yes, but that is completely unrelated. You said:
which is just blatantly wrong because while the aircrafts built in targetting pod doesnt have thermal sight, the weapon system you will be bringing 99.999999999% of all time into the game has them built in. With good zoom, good thermals, ridiculous range and tracking capability, IOG that makes using smoke grenades not matter as the innertial guidance will just keep guiding the missile towards last position, extremely high speed and high amount of TNT filler making any hit a guaranteed kill unless you get gaijined by the spaghetti code.
Completely pointless and “buffing” in this game is tied to either developer “balancing” stats like lock on range (which almost never happens) or bug reports with publically available information.
Lol, that dude in su34 flying at 5k+ altitude. One fox3 launch at him, and:
1- he dive instantly, or going for notch, and runing away to the airfield, for protection.
2- he ignore rwr, keep launching kh38, and get hit by aim120 or something similar, and game over.
thats irrelevant to the discussion of Kh38MTs i was replying to.
I dont really understand why you think that him notching or not notching is relevant to the points above. Either youre trying to move goalposts or you just didnt understand a single word above.
Additionally if you even want to continue this incredible “discussion” you started, he didnt even have to released them from within 11km distance, as the Kh38MT is far more capable of being release outside of all NATO SPAA ranges.
The video wasnt about “look this is how you play” but rather to show that even at 11km range from which it is easy to evade missiles like VT1 (and hell ADATS cant even touch you) the thermal resolution and zoom are more than sufficient enough to get a clear picture of the enemy vehicles.
The characteristics of helicopter thermal imaging sights have been updated. The characteristics of these thermal imagers have been brought to the level of ground vehicle thermal imagers, except for the 1st generation, which in terms of characteristics has been left equal to the 2nd generation. 1st generation: A-129 International (p), Tzefa D / E, AH-1F, AH-1S, AH-1S Kisarazu, AH-1W, AH-64A (GR), AH-64A Peten, AH-64A, Saraph, AH-64D, AH Mk.1, AHS, HKP9A (FC), Lynx AH.Mk.1, G-LYNX, SA.342M Gazelle, YAH-64; 2ndgeneration: A129CBT, Rooivalk Mk1F CSH, AH-64DJP, G-LYNX, Ka-52, Mi-8AMTSh-VN, Mi-28N, Mi-35M, Superhind, T129, EC-665 Tiger HAD, EC-665 Tiger HAP, EC-665 Tiger UHT, Z-9WA, Z-10, Z-11WA, Z-19, Z-19E, AH-129D, AH-1Z, AH-6M, AH-60, MH-60L, Mi-28NM, OH-58D, Tiger HAD Block 2.
I dont see any change to Kh38MT on that list, please find a changelog where the quality has been changed from the implementation of Kh38MT on SM3 to now in order to disprove that the quality of them is infact not generation 3 resolution.
youre trying to prove that the site is outdated and therefore in the context of the conversation about Kh38MTs, what Kev posted is inadmissable.
Otherwise youre just arguing with Kev about the thermal generation of helicopters in this thread for no particular reason.
If Kh38MTs have been changed and they arent generation 3 like that site shows, since you said its outdated, i ask or urge you to find a changelog where gaijin have said that Kh38MT quality has been reduced and to what resolution/generation.
But honestly the issue isnt necessarily the plane but the fact that we have these tiny CoD maps and no proper counter in form of SAM for western nations + China. Su-34 isnt the only op cas plane imo.
Larger maps for top tier, more SAM systems (they exist), ACTUAL incentives to play anti air (rewards SUCK), also implement a time based bonus for SPAA players so there is an actual reason to use them as pre emptive countermeasure rather than only as a reaction to half the team getting back shotted.
Ok… massive skill issue of my part, i didn’t try the button since i play with the buttons bar closed and didn’t see there was actually an option to turn on thermals on the KH38, i take back what i said about no thermals.
I usually use the plane pod with better zoom since in ULQ that i play, trees don’t render when you are more than 8km, so the extra zoom helps a lot in these long range shots, just go fo spawn and spining positions, and it’s an easy 3 or 4 missiles launched in the first 15 seconds of being alive
If you want to be objective, you should compare kh38mt zoom and thermal, with lightning 2 or 3 target pod. And not with the agm seeker which no one uses when there are great target pods.
You want to compare? Good…
But why make an comparison which is not fair from the start… so we compare the KH-38MT with AGM-65G/D
KH-38MT:
Good TVD(Gen.3), good Zoom
AGM-65G/D:
Gen.1 TVD(trash) poor zoom…
Like sure, some planes have AGMs and T-Pod, but not all…
