The recent addition of airspawns to maps on higher tiers

It’s also a (unneeded) stealth buff to certain planes that benefit most from getting up to speed and climbing to altitude to spam their missiles off asap

It’s just arcade battles with RB flight models now. I can’t believe they only go backwards with this game. The whole community has been SCREAMING and BEGGING for ARBEC and now we just got AB+

Which include Su-30SM, Mirage 3, F-4E, F-4F ICE, Tornado F3 & Late, Mirage 2000, Gripen, F-16s, and Viggen to name a few.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the air spawns. You said it all pretty well, I have nothing to add but my support of your petition.

Air spawn should only be a mechanic for subsonic strike aircraft and bombers. Even disregarding that this nerfs match playtime further, it’s just an unfun change designed to encourage more AAB behaviour in ARB matches.

hopefully gaijin will respond to player feedback. arb games already last 6 minutes, we don’t need to get it down to 4 minutes 30 seconds

A friend has taken to doing exactly this on a rinse/repeat cycle in the Iranian f14.
Ensure they have airspawn selected. Lock immediately from spawn, fling all four fakour, slow right down and land on forward runway then do it again

It’s a horribley robotic, mindless and skillless way to play and that’s what the airspawns seem to encourage

Oh, and for who that asked for it? Apparently it is very boring and monotonous to constantly take off from the airfield. So quite clearly they are Zombers that came from Arcade and F-15E players.

Only going to get worse. Im.going to pheonix the rest of the US tree.
Can watch TV, youtube and get a bunch of kills at the same time. And my missus used to say i cant multi task😂

Having A10’s and other slow jets spawning air would of been nice though

Honestly, with how Gaijin has been, I just went back to low tier. They haven’t messed with props since the game came out.

Airspawn+16v16=6 minute matches at 9.7.

I genuinely cannot understand how anyone can defend either of those when they are have an objectively bad effect on the game.

I like the airspawns, wish they would bring them to props and then just keep bombers with them, rebalance BRs of planes that have one as a crutch to justify their higher BR.

As for match length, the only difference is these 6 minutes matches would be what 6 minute and 30 seconds instead? Or for props 8 minute matches instead of 10?

Outside of whatever that small city map is I still have plenty of time to posistion and climb, I don’t mudsuck in any plane aside from subsonics in supersonic BRs, and either climb to below contrail or 8-10k. All this does is cut the downtime at the start of the match by a bit.

You can do the same thing without airspawns, it just takes a little bit longer? Relative posistions are going to be mostly the same if everyone starts the same.

In term sof match length every single second counts towards RP, I’d rather have the few seconds more or what I’ve aways had than the less. Wouldn’t you?

As for potlsitioning, I disagree. Taking off from a small predefined point that eveyone has to so everyone gets the exact same start point and position. Currently that just isn’t the case whatsoever, players are spread out giving some more favourable positions than to others, you seem to also ignore the arbitrary spawning speeds that make zero sense and provide what’s essentially a stealth buff and nerf to various planes as a result too.

As for the robotic mindless gameplay you feel you can do without airpsapwns, yes you can but the crux of that issue is that it actively encourages that’s mindless robotic gameplay over developing skill and teamplay moreso instead. If it was neither a here nor there thing I’d agree but it really isn’t, this mechanic is very reductive gameplay.

To me, it’s just been a lazy way to avoid innovating a game mode that’s now obsolete and in serious need of a complete rework.
I still take off from the airfield anyway.
Who knows — maybe one day WT will become a true simulation game and move away from its FPS-style mainstream approach, building a game design that actually values the usefulness of the vehicles it includes

I hate the airspawn. Something so ridiculous in realistic battles. Should be only for arcade games or even either

i’m 100% with you on this i usually agree with changes that gaijin makes, but this, this just pisses me off.

I think it’s a marketing strategy to sell more premium planes to inexperienced novices so they don’t get killed during takeoff. The next step will be to automate the controls further to make them more arcade-like and easier.

It’s infuriating to play now, especially since they were excellent at slinging 9Gs/Ls from altitude against players who couldn’t see them.

They’re even worse to play now, and the entire game has degraded so that the small bit of enjoyable jet BRs is now ruined because someone thinks throwing arcade features into REALISTIC is good. I just won’t play WT much now.

Edit: lol why did their comment get flagged, they asked for a refund on their harriers because they have now been made considerably worse because the average air RB player has such a brainrotted attention span they can’t fly for more than 3 minutes. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for some of their BR’s to be reduced since their match impact has been halved. Getting to battle first compared to last is enough of a nerf to warrant a BR decrease for most planes.
