The recent addition of airspawns to maps on higher tiers

Recently airspawns have been getting added to pretty much all air RB maps at higher tiers, last small update added in a few more I think making all maps now an airspawn at higher tiers.
Also added in was the bad weather mechanic that defaults takeoff to the runway in the last major update.

There’s some serious problems with these being added to higher tiers that ruin the game some and arcadify it beyond what I would consider beneficial to anything gameplay.

The main issues with airspawns at higher tiers is that players are now spawning at almost full speed, at 3000metrres and immediately within fox 3 slinging range.
This does absolutely nothing for gameplay except make it braindead and encourage mindless missile slinging with less need for skill, it removes a lot of positioning and tactics and forces a more team deathmatch approach form the very off. And makes matches way shorter and furball madness too.

It psychologically also leaves you feeling less part of a team, so there’s way less teamplay (when that’s poor enough already a lot of the time) too.

Southeastern city was added in to this in the last update too, so now you’re spawning 65/70km from your enemy and at reasonable height too. Nothing about that makes that map experience any better and I’d argue just ruins it entirely. Please if you can’t consider reverting the abysmal airspawns added at least revert this one gaijin, it’s idiotic to have that on that map to put it mildly.

The advantage it also gives to some planes over others is entirely nonsensical, that an f111 spawns at the same speed as an a-10 but an f4 phantom is doing Mach 1.05 form the off seems a little ridiculous.
It also places some planes at a significant disadvantage compared to the slight disadvantage they had previously… harriers anyone?

Then there’s the thing of the bad weather mechanic that does nothing but mess up a team being together form the start as some spot it quick enough and can manually override it and get that airspawns anyway. Kind of defeats the whole point of the mechanic to start with surely.

I like taking off, I like the whole team trundling down the runway together and taking off together thing as a team, but we can’t do that as a team anymore because we now have to airspawn.

I really don’t like the way this particular thing is taking the game and how it feels currently. I’d quite like them all reverted to previous the takeoffs from runways only at higher tiers, but would also be ok with them on the bigger maps too

  • Revert the airspawn additions in top tier ARB
  • Keep the airspawn additions in top tier ARB
  • Airspawns for big maps only

I honestly have zero idea on who asked for this. Like I know some weirdo “fighter purists” wanted this because “taking off is too slow” but there is zero reason to have it. But hey, at least Gaijin can act like they did something this update instead of BREAKING THE GAME.

The A10, SU25, harrier, other strike aircraft could.use a permanent airspawn

So basically just have Strike Aircrafts have air spawns throughout the entire game. I guess that’s fine.

I like the airspawns cause they allow for people to bring more fuel.
It equalizes slower accelerating aircraft with the big boys.
Su-30SM no longer is bad accel on takeoff and can keep up with the team better.

Every single person that has asked for multiple airfields on the map; As the only way for that to be possible is with air spawns for the initial spawn.

Air spawns are good but we need to have more planes to spawn so u wouldnt need to rematch after u die
It will also help with the grind

i have only been getting air spawns today, please gaijin

It’s also a (unneeded) stealth buff to certain planes that benefit most from getting up to speed and climbing to altitude to spam their missiles off asap

It’s just arcade battles with RB flight models now. I can’t believe they only go backwards with this game. The whole community has been SCREAMING and BEGGING for ARBEC and now we just got AB+

Which include Su-30SM, Mirage 3, F-4E, F-4F ICE, Tornado F3 & Late, Mirage 2000, Gripen, F-16s, and Viggen to name a few.

Yeah I’m not a fan of the air spawns. You said it all pretty well, I have nothing to add but my support of your petition.

Air spawn should only be a mechanic for subsonic strike aircraft and bombers. Even disregarding that this nerfs match playtime further, it’s just an unfun change designed to encourage more AAB behaviour in ARB matches.

hopefully gaijin will respond to player feedback. arb games already last 6 minutes, we don’t need to get it down to 4 minutes 30 seconds

A friend has taken to doing exactly this on a rinse/repeat cycle in the Iranian f14.
Ensure they have airspawn selected. Lock immediately from spawn, fling all four fakour, slow right down and land on forward runway then do it again

It’s a horribley robotic, mindless and skillless way to play and that’s what the airspawns seem to encourage
