The Pantsir SM-SV is Simply Too Strong, Russian Bias as Clear as Day

It doesn’t need the hypersonic missile, it should be played as an interceptor with its TKB missiles. It’s just not fun to play against, especially in a helicopter.

The chassis doesn’t matter much in this case as the mini-missles were the main stig of the upgraded system and are used on multiple variants, tracked, wheeled or stationary.

Well, it’s not fun when a helicopter peeks for roughly 20 seconds and wipes everyone out ethier.
Or can just hug the helipad, reload, sling, etc.

There’s no true way to balance that dynamic, as the closer you are, the more risk of you dying, versus the farther away you are, the better your chances are in the helicopter.

Just like I can say it isn’t fair that on [Domination] Middle East, helicopters can peek from the canyon walls on the map for just a few seconds, send it and then duck. Or that jet pilots can commit to low level strafes since most of the Anti-airs can’t move anywhere safely on that map and exploit their positions and since most don’t have a gun anyways.

The hypersonic missle changes the dynamic quite a bit, but not enough that it’s going to change the overall game.

I guess I should not play helicopters in 90% of maps that are flat, I think we need reworks and better helipad placement, because as of now, most maps do not provide enough cover from AA fire. But yeah, Russia did not need this at all; playing CAS is borderline impossible these days or just too exhausting or map dependent or dependent on who you are playing against. There are too many variables to make CAS viable now. I do not enjoy it as much as I used to.

IIR missiles should have never come to the game, nor hypersonic ones. Russia is the only country that can effectively cope with nearly all threats, it just makes playing against them a lost cause.

There’s no IIR missiles ingame tho, python 5 and aim9x are modeled as regular IR missiles with kinda stronger IRCM, but stil IR. Thats why its useless against LDIRCM.

The fix would have been to nerf LDIRCM against IIR missiles and increase the radar signature a helicopter emits so an ARH missiles can hit em at 20m or higher from the ground. Doing so, would make helis to spawn further and to dodge the IIR missile flying to the airfield to make distance between both, in case of ARH just go so low (almost landed) that mountain peeking wouldnt be meta anymore

Python 5 and Aim 9X have a maximum range of 5km against slow moving targets that are not coming closer.

Your helicopter/plane have way more range of lock of their armaments.

In case of IRIS-T its more difficult because it has a lot of range and speed.

I accidentally deleted my post… but yeah, I just wanted to say that IIR missiles cannot be balanced, which results in broken features like DLIRCM. I don’t find it fun or engaging, and I don’t think it would be fair for pilots either. So we end up with this situation where state of the art anti-air is reduced to nothing. Most Western nations don’t have the tools to dispatch the new Pantsir or deal with IIR missiles at long range.

We are entering an era of the game where CAS is favored to only one nation, and that being Russia, they are the only ones that can effectively deal with all threats.

I honestly don’t know if HARMS will even matter when this new Pantsir can delete everything out of the sky or even something like ASTER-30 also, HARMs won’t help as much as I thought. We really just need a ground only mode at this point, the dynamics of CAS vs SAMs are all over the place and too skewed in favor of Russia. I just don’t see the point of flying a helicopter without DLIRCM or having to deal with this new Pantsir, it’s not fun to play against.

My F15E no longer stands a chance at top tier time to retire CAS and return to camp thunder 😭

We really need Russia vs Russia mixed teams in all battles, screw their “asymmetric battles.” It is not when one nation is a one-man army and does it all. It’s like fighting an uphill battle you can’t win.

I confirm that heli’s vs Ru are almost impossible to play. That hypersonic Pantsir missile is just too good. The distant helipad also mostly won’t save you.

The question is just: Why? Whats the point of nerfing all non russian nations with this thing? All these air toys and they’re totally pointless.

anti tank its nonexistant for later variants as far as i know but early A1 can carry apfsds, late one carries frangible ammo wich is the closest to gepard’s 30 mm API, imagine the gripen’s PELE-T but on a 30 mm

Welcome to the world of modern warfare basically. Nothing is inhertenly fair, and at the cost of trying to make it fair, you butcher something at the others expense, vice versa.

And I already said what can dispatch the Pantsir, that’s there being more than one pilot attacking at the same time. It’s a very basic concept ironically. As I said, CAS isn’t a solo operation, and trying to make the game slot into that 1 aspect won’t work.

Just like SAMS don’t work solo and work with more to prevent being overwhelmed.

The game currently funneling all these new advancments and features into very small maps makes natural strengths and weaknesses slot into a meta and present no stakes.

It only benifits the vehicle(s) or playstyles that are good for the general map design.

What about all the years prior before this Pantsir variant when F-15s and other planes (along with helis) snuffed out basically everybody. I didn’t hear the ground or SPAA players saying it’s time to retire. They quite literally just dealt with it, for a long time.

Is CAS supposed to remain dominant for another 3 years or something, I’m lost.
