The Mikoyan-Gurevich project 1.44

mmm, depends, being lower also reduces angle of attack from ground radars, without a doubt, the stealth levels wouldnt be as much as from air radars, but it might work in certain conditions

had you played the wt submarine event (i mean modern submarines)? russian submarines werent close as stealthy as american ones, but they could still hide in certain conditions… just had to be farther away and slower, similar thing here

When missiles are mounted. They will also be protruding from the front of the aircraft. When an F-22 punches drop tanks if it didn’t land to mount the RAM covers it becomes and RCS hotspot. Those alone are concerns for operating in a contested environment. How big of concerns we can only speculate but looking at the desire for fuel capacity around the empty weight of an F-16 on the F-35 it looks like they want to avoid it.

I guess the question will lie how much signature will be given away in those circumstances. Could and aircraft hide itself from radar with external stores? Maybe? Would it be useful in a combat environment when it needs to be stealthty? Doubtful.

It was “Muh communism wonderland” as someone else put the post.

I don’t understand people saying the data would be “theoretical”. I’ve already flown it in Ace Combat 5.

My post was removed for being “off topic”. I guess someone doesn’t like it when the childish back and forth S-flinging is called out. Hope the thread can be productive. Or I guess making it a D measuring competition is more “on topic”.

Any good data sheets or anything on this? It looks cool.

There are, they are held my the Mikoyan Gurevich design Bureau, I don’t think they are publically available.

Still holding on in case they want to build it I guess! lol
Hopefully something turns up.

thats my point - whether players will be able to make use of it is an entirely different story ofc

I mean, it was built, just not produced, 1 off prototype kinda thing.

NGL, the Flygvapnet RM12 engine has a TWR of 7:1 (Reheat) and 4:1 (Standard), so…

Tech (as of right now) could create a future possibility.

Don’t miss my follow-on to that statement. In an uncontested environment you could possibly mask your signature from a few directions with those external stores. Without internal stores whatever radar reduction it would have would most likely serve it no purpose.

The F100 (F-15s engine) has an uninstalled TWR of 8:1. Still a far cry from 11:1 not to mention the only fighter engine I know of with a legitimate 40,000 thrust has a twr of 6:1. The most powerful you make the engine the heavier it has to get.

Maybe. But right now we can’t.

the MiG1.42 was made before the raptor, it was a late 70’s early 80’s project

i should have mentioned im talking about air-rb and that is uncontested from ground

Especially if you are 50m off the ground 90% of the time, or at a minimum below the enemies.

I’m talking about it being a stealth aircraft in general. It will have a high radar signature with external stores making it useless without internal.

Also other aircraft falla into the definition of contested airspace.

Updated it with a video, watch it if you would, the come back more skeptic than before.

Megaprojects I like his channel. I also have already watched the video a while back. I am certain at some point in the video he even mentioned the Mig being vaporware if my memory serves me correct.
