The Mikoyan-Gurevich project 1.44

IF, BIG IF gaijin chooses to add stealth aircraft to the game, America would obviously get the F-35/F-22. But what about Russia? They only have the Su-57 Felon right? Wrong!

The Mikoyan-Gurevich project 1.44, the raptor slayer (not dubbed by me).

Now to get to the title. It’s Russian, that’s the first tid-bit. Secondly, it’s another Yak-141 story, never weaponized.

If it’s been done once, it can be done again, and for multiple nations.

It’s said to have the radar response size of a household microwave. It’s faster than the F-22, it’s lighter than the F-22, has a higher TWR than the F-22. It’s genuinely better than the F-22, and has external weapon stores, meaning it doesn’t have any issues with internal stores with 10-12 hardpoints.

Sadly, it only flew once, not because it crashed, not because it was bad, not even because it was fake. It’s because the kremlin killed the project, dispite how promising it was, it was too late, getting caught in the crossfire of the collapse of the USSR, and wouldn’t be in enough numbers if the F-22 ever thought about coming to Russia. I find it a great vehicle, not able to ever spread its wings (pun not intended)

Cool jet, but it doesnt seem stealthy just by looking at it, and on top of that external weapon stores would ruin its RCS. :3

-BEHOLD, THE RAPTOR SLAYER!
-But you don’t really know the capabilities of said Raptor…
-THE RAPTOR SLAYER!
-But… You’re so broke now, that every capable scientist has already made a run for it… Your manufacturing capability is like 30 years short of technology…
-BEHOLD!!!
-Dude, your claims about your wunderwaffe weapons proved to be false in like 100% of the times…
-THE RAPTOR SLAYER! IT SLAYS RAPTORS!!! IT’S FASTER, BETTER, COOLER, CHEAPER, FASTER!!!

Bit is called “Communism wonderland”

The Su-57 is not superior to the F-22, it’s not even close. One has rivets. The other has a radar signature of a bumblebee. By the time you manage to detect it, you are screwed, and even if you do detect it, missiles are going to struggle to get a radar lock, or even manage to hold that lock. Besides that, the only option you would have is firing your ZSU Anti-air guns which are not gonna do much in reality.

As its a soviet aircraft, it would meet the minimum requirements. Any other nation, its a no go.

Ok… doubtful

I find these statements to be pretty contradictory. A majority of radar reflectivity can come from suspended weaponry.

So either you get decent stealth performance or external stores, not both.

Source???

Also canards are bad for stealth and this thing has some BIG canards

I can also see straight through to those engine fans so no bueno.

The plane is also absolutely massive so double no bueno

Damn those are some big canards, I think they may be just smaller than the wings on the F-104

Cough cough, said to have

The engines are on a other plane (like X-Y-Z axes) than the intakes.

There’s lots of minor downsides, but the first flight wasn’t even made in the USSR, it was made in post soviet Russia in the late 90’s.

These are noted as to be:
Worse radar than the raptor
Worse service ceiling than the raptor
No super cruise, unlike the raptor

It’s faster; has ever so slightly, longer range, and in my opinion never had the opportunity to really show its capabilities.

Yet again, issue is, this is all theoretical math, because the one time it did fly, the pilot didn’t want to push its limits, and possibly break something that would cause an even larger setback.

Yeah, the Felon is plagued with tons of real world problems and limited production numbers, let alone enough qualified pilots with enough skill to fly it.

It’s pretty damn flat.

Correct me if im wrong, with a stealth jet you dont want non angled flat areas, this thing has alot of non angled flat areas.

This plane isn’t “stealth”, it would’ve been a good 5th gen multirole

The F-22 wings are literal trapezoids, and so are the vertical stabilizers and the horizontal ones are wired looking.

Generally speaking, the fuselage of both are rather smooth and flow if you look closely at all the changes.

It’s not true stealth but it has the reasoning behind it that it does has a decently decreased radar signature.

That engine bulge cant be good for stealth

Is there any credible proof backing this up?

It’s particularly not, yet it still had a decreased RCS.
