The MI28NM problem

Lmao I never said their cas was crap. In capable hands anything is usable. Thanks for the jab there telling me i suck.

In sim, the aim-9m is vastly better. You don’t get a big Diamond telling you it’s coming.

Idk someone else brought up some point about Russian cas

Looool, cause you keep saying that a laser that protects a side that can´t physically protect (and cover against multiple missiles) is ok because “it makes helis usable” or something like that.

It’s the same in ground RB in this case, also has no markers.

Oh and I meant Su-30sm giving us a hard time, got confused with the Su-33 lol

Really cant understand this comment, I got killed several times by R-73 even when flaring and also while doing close dogfights.

You have any video that shows r73 being useless with the 40G overload??

There are plenty in YT that show it works

I think we should just focus on the helicopters matter and let everything else for the after.

The R-73 before the nerf and now are two different missiles.

What date does the R-73 got nerfed? I showed you videos from 2025 and as far as I know it didnt got nerfed with the Tusk Force Update.

Anyway I want to keep the discussion with the Mi-28NM LDIRCM issue.

thats just throwing numbers at a wall, the aim9ms were significantly more maneuverable irl than they are ingame, thats not what made the r73 so potent what made it potent was the mixture of good range, thrust vectoring , irst on mig29 and Shchel-3UM sight that made it potent. even in war thunder the r-73 range is vastly underestimated as its acceleration is a bit slow but in terms of range its up to par with other fox 2s and that is whilst out maneuvering all of them, now it had a subpar seeker but irl whilst still important especially in the 80s you will not get any warning that and r-73 is tracking you unless someone or you spot it.

It’s “hardly” invisible these days.

War Thunder “Tusk Force” - Changelog

“The visual effects for rocket and missile smoke trails and engine flames have been updated.”

Not at short ranges, especially after The FoV Filter was made to function pre-launch, for All IRCCM missiles instead of just the Magic 2 as the report has documentation for.

Update 2.45.1.61

“Seeker FoV reduction for AAM IR seekers now happens after locking onto the target and not after launch. (Report )”

And if the airframe lacks larger flares(The ALE-40 family of dispensers is modular should accept the MJU-11, -12 & -17 magazines, giving options for 1x1"(M206), 1x2(MJU-7 or -8) or 2x2"(MJU-10) countermeasures), or happens to have a “Hot” engine your going to need more than one.

Gatewidth under a certainyl
Distance is unflarable, but is pre flarable.

Hmm it’s a wonder why you don’t think they’re good.

Also, you can still pre flare R-73s

And you only have so many flares, and the FoV-reduction also works pre-launch now so it’s much less reliable.

I never said they were bad.

Ok, tell me what the difference is between a -9L and -9M is if you don’t see the launch?

You can’t say the same for the R-60M and R-73 can you.

The what now 0_o

So preflaring won’t save me

If only they weren’t protected by Gaijin,

ts too,

Spoiler

I don’t think recouping that amount of SP would be hard with 8-16 of our newest FnF missiles.

Depends on the map really.
I’ve seen some really open caps in Battle mode which are definitely open for flanking.

Typical unreliable advertising materials, Gaijin usually doesn’t believe that kind of stuff.

But the AIM-9M and AAM-3 really were nerfed — quite significantly, in fact. Right now, its launch in Sim is easy to spot because of the distinct smoke trail, which the missile doesn’t have in real life.

Guys this is a discussion on the Mi-28NM specifically in GRB. Don’t bring Sim or ARB into this because you’ll get the topic closed.
