the point of reflection is most likely where the axises of rotation intersect as that would produce the most easily controllable system and minimizes the reflector size and therefor over all system size and complexity
in which case as you can see in this image the point of reflection is well outside of the housing, and would have be able to direct past 90 degrees
this is all assuming a simple flat reflector, where with a complex reflector design they could easily direct past 90 degrees
I have marked the position of the pivot and the edge of the housing, as you can see the pivot is well outside the edge of the housing
additionally as it pivots around the center of that point, and the beam width is likely roughly the size that I marked, there is clearly a capability of aiming past 90 degrees
Look at Russian ground. Russia has not a single competitive top tier MBT. And their SPAA is average as well. CAS is the only thing that Russia has. And it’s not like other nations don’t have strong CAS as well. You also have many methods of shooting down a helicopter with DIRCM. But since you cannot go up and spawn an actual SPAA, you keep crying for a nerf to the few good things that Russia top tier still offers. In the next update, the Z10 will be another victim of such complaints. It never ends.
Ah yes because Russia suffers…friend let me tell you having the 3rd best tank at top tier the best SAM for years and now the 2nd/3rd best SAM along with the best IFVs for the BR they are at and Kh-38.
But sure why shouldn’t you guys just get one cap or kill and come back in an FnF helicopter and kill half the enemy team. While those SAMs cannot shoot you down…Germanies/Britains and USAs only solution to the Mi-28 spam is to one hope the helicopter gets too close because well Russian players and snipe it with a Stormer or a Flakrad/Adats or shoot it down with a jet. I am enjoying toss bombing Paveway IVs on to the heli pad and farming those Mi-28 players that do not leave the helipad
Every day this game is just another day of the Russian cope simulator.
Yes why indeed…Why would a game need to portray Russia as a powerhouse of technology and make NATO look distinctly average. CAMM, IRIS-T all capable of intercepting a tennis ball sized target traveling at mach 1.0…Stationary hovering helicopter…I am defated
I know which is why since they added modern stuff this game has become worse, they have to pander to the idea that well Russian stuff isn’t massively outdated and inferior. They do this by removing the capabilities of NATO stuff. AMRAAM, Brimstone, MICA, Sensor fusion, Thermal optic quality to name a few.
my main annoyance is that it doesnt seem like russian can ever be without a counter to something, like they ALWAYS get an equivalent to whatever new gizmo is added, there was 1 patch between the addition of multi vehicle sams and russia getting a top tier one(despite that being an eccelent time to add older systems) and you sure as hell know that theyre getting kh31 the same patch as the agm88 drops.
I think the problem is that the developers simply delayed adding many vehicle variants for a very long time, thereby creating the impression that the USSR had an answer to every situation.
