This sounds like a good idea on paper but in practice this makes pretty much spawning aircraft a detriment to your team. I agree with the sentiment that we need a way to balance these new helicopters. I feel like being able to re-arm in helipads is a bit busted. War Thunder needs to introduce some type of logistics system or at the very least make the helipads a place to repair but not to re-arm
If rearms cost SP then that’ll instantly curb the spam of high power F&F weapons heavily.
To go one step further, we can also just reduce SP gain from kills using helicopters and CAS relative to tank to tank or SPAA to aircraft kills. (Edit: Should also be most rewarding for players in aircraft to destroy other air assets to further encourage anti-air gameplay)
A third (likely controversial) step is to completely refund SP for players that die to CAS/helicopters so they can respawn with a significantly reduced penalty.
still funny the BR for LDIRCM helis hasnt changed yet lol
yes they can do BR changes without doing a bunch of vehicles at one time. FlakPanzer 341 was just changed recently.
Sure, though in most circumstances the better reload, mobility, gun depression and round is better.
I mean, they were 12.0 until they added F&Fs for them.
and? 12.3 clearly isn’t a good spot for them.
They should be at 12.7 or 13.0
I think The LDIRCM helis should go to 12.7, though the newer SPAAs ( including the Pantsir) should all at least go up by 0.3.
I think LDIRCM helicopters should go to 13.0, alongside ground top tier as it’s heavily compressed anyways.
It would just make 12.0 MBTs face 13.0 aircraft and LDIRCM helis more common.
13.0 Ground decompression would be nice but people are complaining about how common and easy it is to face these helis and aircraft even when you don’t have your own.
Even more decompression (past 13.0) would be great.
After seeing a pattern of regular players do well with AH-64E, Z-10ME, and Mi-28NM; it’s safe to say that they’re over-performing compared to other CAS of like-BR IMO.
Part of that is because rotor blades aren’t modeled for radar cross section [or being shot for that matter].
Another part of that is the incomplete LDIRCM code.
However, an unavoidable part of it is that they can more easily pop in and out of cover, unlike fixed wing aircraft.
Aircraft like the Mirage 2000D RMV are also doing pretty well.
While helis can often just hide behind cover from 10km away, the overall visibility of most maps for non-ballooning helis are limited compared to aircraft.
12.3 - 13.0 planes are more than capable of kinematically dodging SACLOS missiles and some IR guided missiles, while also being able to multi-path and notch radar missile SPAAs.
Ground going to 13.0 would solve much more issues (found in several BRs) than it would create, so I think that would definitely be a net positive thing. If helicopters and planes need to go up higher than 13.0 because they still overperform, so be it.
Except no one uses that anymore with the SP system.
I know some that do.
And make CAP loadouts significantly cheaper, it’s not like Fox 3 missiles aren’t impossible to dodge or multipath.
The Mi-28 needs to go to 13.0 or 14.0, so it never sees downtiers. This thing has no business being anywhere near 12.3 battles.
Sorry, best they can do is leave it like this for 6 months to a year, then suddenly fix some “bugs” (which were intentional in the first place), give us an update off from the cancer then we get the next russian wonder weapon to deal with.
Like the 120mm dart-tanking Ka-50…
I feel like I’ve seen this movie before.
Yeah, it keeps happening sadly.
No one can convince me that abysmal implementation of lirdcm or whatever it’s called isn’t implemented this way deliberately.
All it really means for me is that the game stops at 10.7, before gaijins shenanigans really kick into high gear.
Ofc it is, just like the lofting and all other of these small inaccuracies
