The MI28NM problem

It’s “hardly” invisible these days.

War Thunder “Tusk Force” - Changelog

“The visual effects for rocket and missile smoke trails and engine flames have been updated.”

Not at short ranges, especially after The FoV Filter was made to function pre-launch, for All IRCCM missiles instead of just the Magic 2 as the report has documentation for.

Update 2.45.1.61

“Seeker FoV reduction for AAM IR seekers now happens after locking onto the target and not after launch. (Report )”

And if the airframe lacks larger flares(The ALE-40 family of dispensers is modular should accept the MJU-11, -12 & -17 magazines, giving options for 1x1"(M206), 1x2(MJU-7 or -8) or 2x2"(MJU-10) countermeasures), or happens to have a “Hot” engine your going to need more than one.

Gatewidth under a certainyl
Distance is unflarable, but is pre flarable.

Hmm it’s a wonder why you don’t think they’re good.

Also, you can still pre flare R-73s

And you only have so many flares, and the FoV-reduction also works pre-launch now so it’s much less reliable.

I never said they were bad.

Ok, tell me what the difference is between a -9L and -9M is if you don’t see the launch?

You can’t say the same for the R-60M and R-73 can you.

The what now 0_o

So preflaring won’t save me

If only they weren’t protected by Gaijin,

ts too,

Spoiler

I don’t think recouping that amount of SP would be hard with 8-16 of our newest FnF missiles.

Depends on the map really.
I’ve seen some really open caps in Battle mode which are definitely open for flanking.

Typical unreliable advertising materials, Gaijin usually doesn’t believe that kind of stuff.

But the AIM-9M and AAM-3 really were nerfed — quite significantly, in fact. Right now, its launch in Sim is easy to spot because of the distinct smoke trail, which the missile doesn’t have in real life.

Guys this is a discussion on the Mi-28NM specifically in GRB. Don’t bring Sim or ARB into this because you’ll get the topic closed.

Long story short. The Mi-28Nm isn’t a problem. There you go. They can close the thread now.

You have what it takes to be a WT dev

Well it’s true. The Mi-28Nm’s Ldircm is the worst, yes it has a broken model, so do the other helis tho.

The Z-10 is by far the strongest, and the Apache is a middle ground between thee previously mentioned helis.

LDIRCM should be fixed for all those 3 nations (and the new AH-64E coming).

Not only in the realistic aspect (like IIR missiles being inmune or the area of protection). A helicopter with magical properties shouldnt make players to have 2 spaa in ther lineup (one for helis another for planes), and damn Israel doesnt even have a SACLOS spaa, what is the solution? stop playing the TT?

The helicopter dircm issue its more significant in Top Tier Ground Sim, when the soviets/chinese spam helicopters and planes, you cant J out and spawn another spaa when having just 3 lives. 8x8 damn maybe worst with only 1 live

No, but beeing aware of what your tech tree is lacking and playing around it.

Most OP gun? Mi
Most OP F&F m.? Mi
Most OP command guided m.? Mi
Should I continue or no?

I’m not sure if you play clan wars but over 30 games, I saw 2 apaches and 0 Z-10s, 90% Mi-28NM and they shread ground

I’d be glad to debate about which is best

When I get killed playing merkava I spawn SPAA, but its the feeling of being impotent because Gaijin just add thing without being realistic, so I cant do anything with the SPYDER except play like an iron dome until ran out of missiles, meanwhile the Mi28NM flies high without fear because of that aspect.

By the time one of my teamates die with their CLAWS/Irist-T and decide to spawn saclos spaa, the mi28nm already killed all our ground team

I dont have any issues playing with the Tiger UHT (no LDICRM), so why people have to ask for magic shields when helicopters are actually playable and maybe better than planes?

Yea, i mean everybody knows it’s shit, why you even play it ?

Yea, but you still have more chance to kill the Mi28 than the Apache or the Chinese one.

Yeah I could see why in sim it’s a problem.

Tbf though, the players, have made helicopters largely bad to play unless you play like the starter German heli or the AH-1G in all its super man like invincibility.

I actually hate trying to play the Mi-24D now. They took away its ability to use CCIP/CCRP for rockets, additionally, it’s model is still so bad, a single .50 cal can make you have to return to land, or make you perish in general.

Mi-24D for an example is from 1971
The Gepard, which is of a lower br, is from 1976
Not a large gap, but the tech difference especially in game is insane, because your pretty much dead as soon as a Gepard locks you due to its accuracy.

All those “Gepard” likes demolish the low tier helis, unless they’re on your team.

Then mid tier is fraught with manpads, of which ircms on mi-24s don’t seem to work at all, nor does flaring…
Therefore only past 10.7 do helis get somewhat decent but most of the time spaa out ranges you…

Like the G-Lynx is easily one of the best helis due to speed, size, and weapon load out…

But to wrap up, they kinda killed helo gameplay thanks to listening to whining players.
