The SEP has worse armor than the 2A6, and the 2A6 gets a better hp/ton and still has gen 2 thermals in the commander view. The T-90M gets better armor, spall liners, and better thermals.
I disagree with them too, but they seem entrenched. You won’t convince anyone.
I absolutely can’t stand lower tiers, the lowest I will go is like 9.0 now… and that’s extremely rare.
But I realized all the stuff that pisses me off. If you can’t beat em, join em.
And join them I did! Best decision lol
The australian abrams went to usa ,but then australian F-111 was added to britain (No hate towards britain). Also I agree that candaian leoaprd should’ve gone to britain since they have canadian anti-air and some low tier tanks.
The M1A2 and 2A6 have the same amount of meaningfull armor (anything below the turret cheeks will lol pen both), the M1A2 SEP HP is only marginally lower and as a tradeoff it gets much better depression angles over the side, better gunner thermals and a faster reload.
Don’t get me started about the T-90M, 4 km/h reverse speed, 7.1 sec reload and bad gun depression instantly make it worse.
Let’s be honest. You have neither the experience or the gamesense yet to know well how top tier plays out and how the balance is.
Strawman.
You don’t know what a strawman is if you think saying your words back to you is a strawman. You called thermals a skill issue, not me lmfao.
Real war thunder players spawn a plane and dogfight you to death after you revenge bomb them
“Your own words back at you”
Strawman. Point out where I mentioned anything about losing improved thermals. Or read the entire context of the original, instead of nitpicking.
You think “your own words back at you” is a strawman? Do I need to explain what a strawman is lol?
But sure I’ll point out the fault in your logic. If having worse thermals in the form of gen 1 thermals is a skill issue. then the logical conclusion is anything above gen 1 is a skill issue and anything above that is unnecessary. So you should have no problem losing your thermals. That’s not a strawman, that’s the logical conclusion to your logic.
Jumping to conclusions. Gen 1 thermals are functional at top tier if you understand how to use them (as outlined in my original comment); later imagers just make things easier (not better).
Then you pull this dingo’s kidneys about losing thermals for others out of your arse. Where did I even mention that?
Reminder that the mantlet is a weak spot on every tank, not just the challenger. While the Challies are on the larger side in terms of mantlets it’s not like you can’t shoot there on any opponent for a kill or at least breach knockout
I just find that when I hit that spot, I might disable their gunbreach but is no guarantee of a kill.
I rarely have my gun breach destroyed because a hit there is a one shot.
I think a combo of the ammo placement, crew placement and just how thin the challenger mantlet is, just results in a higher proportion of one shots compared to a lot of other tanks
Yeah you gotta shoot right side (your left) for tanks using NATO guns and left side (your right) on Russian/Chinese vehicles to knock out the gunner and commander if applicable. Though a destroyed breach means they can’t shoot you, and unless they can hide in 5 seconds in a place you can’t get line of sight on in 30, they’re dead.
I got adding leopards to nations that need them, but when it was to France, who is a bigger arms exporter than Germany by quite a bit, and has export variants of the Leclerc to add after the Export venture tank, AMX-40, they pushed their terrible problem solving too far
The 2A6 doesn’t have an ahistorically massive turret ring, and it has a much larger area of low pen chance against 11.3 ammunition.
11.3 munitions can pen both the 2A6 and M1A2 pretty much everywhere below the turret cheeks.
Like their hulls are both equally paper against 11.3+ ammo. Not to mention that the 2A6 also has a far larger 1 shot kill spot on the hull than the Abrams.
Like I said, you’ll see how easy it is to one shot both the M1A2 and 2A6 when you reach 11.3+.
Honestly, at this point i believe that most people are just to stupid to differentiate leopards from strv122s,
maybe because they are perma stuck in thermal sight for one and dont bother turning off to specify their targets.
So out of the predominant fear of strv122 they out of principale never even bother shooting the damn hull and just blame leopards in general cause of their own mistakes
I honestly haven’t been against that many leopards but been up against Abrams, T-90s and T-80s aswell as the Chineese top tier tanks (whatever they are called) haven’t been up against any leopards at all I don’t think unless I’m playing 10.3 area.
To me:
Playing America top tier is just breach repair simulator. Breach just gets hammered and the engine is so loud. I know people are asking for them to have a spall liner and idk much about that.
Britain you have to be pretty skilled for but they need to give the challengers the realistic buffs they require. A few people have provided evidence in various different posts to support 20 round first stage ammo with a reload of around 3-3.5secs. The L27A1 was made to kill Russian tanks centre mass its supposed to have 700mm pen but gaijin has their excuses as to why it doesn’t. The armoured or glycol wet bins that just don’t do anything in game. The fact that tank is made for ridging and sniping yet there is no sniping spots (because every tank will just snipe) there is also no line up for it, they need the Ajax and boxer, so does Germany.
The 2F and 2ES are useless as I believe they only stop HEAT Shells. They are practically the same and barely different. 2E is ok would have been good as a premium.
And the turn/traverse speed glitch where u just stop or get stuck even while moving still exists for multiple tanks despite them saying they have fixed it.
I think it might be the most broken or under-maintained tank in game.
Gaijin is just to slow at fixing or balancing things. They do it to late.
Anyway rant over.
More people should have said no to copy-paste Sherman’s, Stuart’s, Patton’s, M10’s, M36’s, etc. This was always going to happen without the player base pushing back. It’s simply very easy (and cheap) for Gaijin to do.
Also, I find it ironic that people say top tier Britain is trash but then adamantly say no to Australian players asking for all their vehicles to be in one place with the M1A1 AIM being a British squadron vehicle. It’s not even a tech tree tank like all these Leopard 2’s.
