9X can lock non-burning targets?
2 per launcher is not enough…the nasams you can go all 9x but not the claws you only get 2 per launcher
9X can be launched and track even if it does not see heat signature. So it can be used to target ammunition as well

Since this only affects fox 3’s, i wonder if people will still be able to iron dome with SARH missiles, since they will be able to proxy on other missiles

Im all for getting rid of the iron dome meta
But this is also completely fucking any SPAAS that use a ARH as their primary missile for intercepting helicopter missiles and KH-38s
Gaijin needs to find a way to still allow ARH SPAA to intercept missiles while also fixing the iron dome meta

“A target filtering mechanic has been addded to radio fixes of some ARH and SARH air-to-air missiles — the fuze now ignore small targets like missiles if the launch was directed at a bigger target, like an aircraft.
So you can still launch at missiles.

it only removes the MCM with rockets and brimstones, at least one part of the problem is gone
By this point i’m wondering if the snail is trying to figure out if iron dome defense is a viable counter tactic against stealth aircraft in real life.
That’s would only be a problem if the snail wills it, even if the spaa was using the same missile model as an airplane all they have to do is to copy it and change that proximity fuse toggle for that specific version.
I am pretty sure that does not work IRL. Besides ECM and EW exist IRL so why would snail even think about that?

Because stealth aircraft become more visible to radar when they launch their missiles (and the Air to Air missiles themselves aren´t stealthy), so while they would in principle get the initiative and first launch, the snail might be trying to figure out if defeating this first volley with missiles would even the odds as the element of surprise would be lost and stealth aircraft necessarily have fewer missiles available for launch as they have to store them internally.
Just a thought, given they have announced the intention to add stealth aircraft to top tier for a while now.

I can see the following happening if stealth/5th gen gets added: Missile truck 4th gen sees missiles on radar, shoots all of them down, eventually sees stealth aircraft on radar and has a missile quantity advantage, shoots down remaining missiles and 5th gen… The Super Hornet would be a more viable jet than the Raptor, if the prior can just shoot down all incoming munitions and overwhelm the latter.
At this point we can say, the Iron Dome isn’t “an issue”, it’s a feature.
