The Gripen E is being artificially held back: We need IRIS-T, Meteor (or Derby!), and ARMs

this one didnt really die tho

and neither did this one

They should add a higher BR A-10C with AIM-9X missiles and ECM pods.

The Derby, while fun, is stuck being a low-end Fox-3.

I could see if I can find it, might have to go to Stockholm for it like the SAAB technical notes I also want to read that writes about the research for the close coupled canard configuration

Edit: I think this might exist in a library in my town now from searching up the ISSN, will go over and see if I can find it, I still have to go to Stockholm for the SAAB technical notes though.

A-10C already gets its balls kicked by fighters even in a full downtier, AIM-9X and ECM won’t save it at 12.7

I never said it should be 12.7, but there has to be a new one similar to the Su-25SM3 cause the JAGM-F, Stormbreakers, ECM pods, and such weapons can’t be placed on the 11.7 A-10C.

A 12.0 or 12.3 A-10C would do fine, and it serves as a good starting point to test the AIM-9X Block 2 on a jet.

9X-2 under 12.7 even on a dogshit platform like the A-10C is not a good idea

You’re the kind that thinks the R-73 and 9M are hard to dodge, aren’t you? The 9X is just a 9M that pulls harder and goes further.

Next-generation IR missiles should have come ages ago.

literally only a few hours ago in a different thread i was talking about how R-73s are completely useless if the target has brain activity.

i’m not even going to do the “you’re X person, aren’t you” thing and go immediately for the truth: you ARE the kind that makes shit up on the spot about a person they’ve talked to for all of three seconds.

not the block 2, which you want added.

Explain why the 9X at 12.7 on a plane that travels at WW2 prop speed is an issue? That bracket regularly sees FOX-3 already.

Yes, the block 2. I have the documentation :)

explain why an infrared imaging missile with a large range boost over contemporary missiles + TVC is a problem regardless of platform? yeah here you go: it’s a fucking 9X-2

pluh you’re talking about the 9X-2 while describing a 9X-1, the block 2 isn’t “just a 9M with TVC and more range”, that’s the block 1

They sure as hell help though.

In a short range dogfight. im limited to my gun because I cant use 9M that close.

But Magic II and R-73 can be used, including quite effectively with HMD.

But, below top tier it makes a difference.

Tonka with HMD is the same BR as Tonka without (SLE VS GR4) because neither have a weapon to use with it.

Mirage 2KD-R1 without HMD is a lower BR than the Mirage 2KD RMV with HMD because Magic II can be very effective with HMD. Ive heard similar from the Mig-21Bigmac with the R-73 and HMD too

It’s a PROP speed plane. The AIM-9M at 11.7 used on the A-10C is already okay at best because it can’t give it the energy to be overpowered. A 9X found on an A-10C at one BR up is reasonable and follows the exact pattern the A-10 series already follows in the tech tree

The 9X Block 2 is the only one modeled in-game. It is functionally a 9M with more range and more pull.

Plenty do at 5.7.

“added”. It’s the ONLY ONE IN-GAME.

Obviously, but in its current state, it would be fine. Furthermore, it’s already how the A-10s are in the tech tree.

The A-10A Late gets 4x 9L at 10.7.

The A-10C gets 4x 9M at 11.7

The A-10C Late (I’m suggesting) would follow the same pattern of 4x 9X-2 at 12.7

none do

implementation on SAM systems does not count in the current context of air battles with only aircraft involved.

so now its suddenly okay for it to be 12.7 instead of 12.0? you’re more indecisive than my mother

It does depend on how the seeker is modeled (assuming it gets any changes when added onto aircraft) and at least some decompression.

Because it would be very annoying to come across something that can just get 4x free kills if you entered with 10km of it. Perticuarly with the number of actually quite weak aircraft just below at 12.0/12.3

can be used, but chances of success depend on whether the enemy, in terms of intelligence, is closer to a fully functional human being or a small monkey that was dropped on its head and suffered TBI.

this guy also wants ECM on it so its automatically 12.7 (or higher depending on ECM modeling) anyways

My F4U-4B absolutely does keep up with an A-10C in level flight.

The model is identical for SAMS and air-to-air missiles. You can put them on a plane in custom matches with ease.

As I said before, the BR is fluid. It could easily be anywhere between 12.0 and 12.7.

The difference here is that you’re saying it can’t exist at all, which is completely false.

You realize the A-10A has an ECM pod IRL? Having an A-10C Late, using one at 12.7 would be rational due to its speed and the fact that it would face R-27ER and Fox-3 missiles.
