If/when ECM is added, it should come to all, which should include aircraft even lower than 12.7. Like for example Sky Shadow on the Tonkas at 11.3.

depending on how ECM is handled per-aircraft i expect alot of balancing problems might arise for certain vehicles.
depending on the strength of the ECM on the tornadoes for example, they could potentially get a BR jump since the ability to intercept them will be reduced and stronger missiles will be necessary, whereas other bombers will be left behind at a lower BR since they’d be the ones getting intercepted instead.
We have long had issues with all-aspect missiles on “weak” platforms causing problems in downtiers, like for example the A-10s at 10.3/10.7
IRCCM carriers in the 11.Xs like the Su-25/39 and A-10C have also caused some minor issues too.
There is genuine concern about having IIR slingers too low to.
Id love for Tonka GR4 to get 2x ASRAAM and remain at 12.3. Its the level of buff probably actually needed to keep it properly competitive at that BR, but it would also be a niche OP monster and it would probably end up at 13.0+.
Even being conservative. I would see the A-10C (Late) with Aim-9X being on the higher end, 12.7/13.0.

In the Tonkas case, im of the opinion they are over BRed but at their lowest possible BR, so buffs like Sky Shadow are perfect, because they enhance its defensive performance, but not its offensive performance which would increase BR.
Im largely assuming that what ECM will do, is simply reduce the range in which you can engage with radar guided weapons. It doesnt affect guns or IR weapons which still remain the main weapon at 11.3.

Even if it gets changed, it won’t be a problem because 12.7 sees planes at 13.7, which are incredibly dangerous.
Take the F-2, Su-30MKK, F-14B/D/A(IRIAF), Kfir C.10, and such. With the speed at which the plane moves, it would pose an issue to missile spammers, but be relatively slow enough for guns to knock out easily.
For the most part, 12.7 to 13.7 is already full of several planes that can do that, and further, many of which I have already listed. Furthermore, the 9X-2 is already very flarable, and Air RB has missile diamonds.
Yes, it should come to the game. Gaijin is intentionally testing ECM in several ways right now.

depending on the electronic warfare equipment it can also flat out break locks from nearly any range depending on how fast it can respond.
Unless you are maintaining absolute situational awarness and can run away really quickly when you spot one, then there isnt a lot you can do against a 9L coming at you in a lot of aircraft without CMs at 9.3 or 9.7.

Im assuming that it will be a “gaming convention” implementation, rather than anything “realistic”.
Im guessing it will be akin to IRCM, but with a min range. At least that is what im expecting from more early ECM systems

i’ve been playing 9.3 to 10.0 alot, only time i’ve died to an A-10 was when i either rammed into it because i ripped off my skyhawk’s wings and barreled directly into his ass, or when i was flying at low altitude near the start of the match and copped a 9L to the face. this is only two examples in a timeframe of a year or two.
A-10 players cry when they see my flareless plane, because they know they’re never going to get in range to fire at me, and by the time they can, i’m behind them guns ready.
the 10.3 and 10.7 A-10s are genuinely not a big deal, you just have to understand that vacuuming the terrain with your jet engine isn’t mandatory and you are indeed allowed to fly above 5 meters AGL and you don’t have to fly directly at any enemy you see, because you are indeed allowed to flank
That isnt necessarily an option or a good idea.
For example, Ive been playing a lot of Jaguar GR1 of late. It does not like altitude. and If I did climb, I would be hunted down by Mig-21s instantly
played that exact jag out yesterday, actually. it was fine enough and it allowed me to perform an altitude based flank and lob a 9G straight up an A-10’s ass.

The only people who die to an A-10A are those who either aren’t paying attention, have been forced into a vulnerable state by another player, or don’t properly use their altitude to their advantage. Even flareless planes can keep their distance or use rockets/missiles as flares, as the A-10A can barely give the 9L about 1KM of range max fired from a level AOA.
When playing the A-10A, which I have played the most out of all my jets, it’s incredibly common to see people rush you blindly, seeing you as a free kill.
This is an emotional reaction rather than a factual truth. These planes perform poorly overall and require others to make mistakes and engage them.
It’s whiners, nothing more. They all share extremely poor KDs, including the tech tree ones and the event ones.
12.7 is rational, but I would never suggest the A-10C seeing 14.0.
Not to mention the A-10C, even with 4x 9X-2 would be nowhere near as potent as the 6x AIM-54/Fakour launchers.
ECM will handle the FOX3s, your flares will handle the IR missiles, and your airframe will crumble to bullets because you decided to bring an A-10 into an air battle for whatever reason.
facing 14.0 with 9X-2s and strong ECM? not a huge deal, but obviously not ideal either.
