Except they can exist there because they still get RP/SL for their actions.
So why not giving their actions more impact to the battle?
Look at 6.0 with the Ju288 spam. Sure, most of them are dumb players, but one with a working braincell can win battles. Why? Because a base bleeds 300 tickets. 4 of them 1200 tickets in the first run. If the fighters kill all bots, the enemy team is done without killing a single enemy player
Rank VI and above same constellation and no impact.
I mean the key is the missing benefit for a win itself.
I have some understanding for guys trying to spade their aircraft (i saw a 109 base bombing a few days ago, 2 runs…) but as long as winning or losing means nothing for most players (as a victory does not really improves SL income) we see way too many people thinking that TacTic is a new app trying to challenge TikTok…
So the surrounding mechanics play a major role too, but gajin’s reward & income steering prevents long matches in the first place.
So if they encourage people to speed run battles and seek immediate action they create also a very effective way to prevent players getting the massive RP boost for long matches.
I used 5 wagers in last days (10 Victories) - 4 of them paid the full 250k SL and another 175k. Most matches were won after a few minutes - at prop BRs 3.7 & 4.0.
Imho your question is right, but your example is outdated.
I flew enough matches with the 6.3 50 mm 262 and the 6.7 262 A-2a in the last weeks to see this different. Even in full downtiers to 5.3 or 5.7 the 288s are unable to use their potential (2 x SB 2.500 and 4 Ju 288s means 8 bases) as those lobbies are full with US/UK/USSR clowns flying totally undertiered (and mainly postwar) fighters - even if they are able to kill 4 bases those matches are usually on 7.600 tickets maps (= very limited ticket impact), and the 288s don’t live long enough.
The problem is simply that any enemy strike aircraft has the same ticket impact with 3 pillbox kills. So even if you increase the ticket bleed for a base kill, a strike aircraft can kill a base too and easily double the ticket impact with 20 seconds unmolested. The recent “ai plane won’t drain tickets” change in wt killed even the last option for 288s to win a battle with strategic game play.
I know these problems, and I think that’s a major problem discussing ARB. There are so many problems, working together, the majority of players take the easy way and discuss over and over again about things solving nothing. Most of them only have a egoistic view instead trying to make it better for everyone.
You know I wrote it so often:
We need a fair reward system, give the most reward to the biggest impact to win a battle and staying alive.
We need game mechanics where bombers and stikers are a benefit to the battle instead of weakening the team and only gain personal ressources more than any player trying to win.
We need a ticket system players decide to win, not bots.
There is need to motivate even the players only play ARB to get advantage in GRB to learn how to play properly.
As usual: Totally agree, but to be fair: The interactions of certain game settings & mechanics are not easy to detect and humans tend to focus on specific things which are obvious - but often forget to take a step back to get a view of the whole picture.
If you look at the 2 other interesting discussions:
- The 264th discussion about getting rewards for “maneuver kills” which are extremely rare in Air RB - the fellow players insist on something equivalent to a participation reward in case enemies crash near them, even as i showed an example of a match with 7 crashes due to massive skill issues.
- Yak-9 with 45 mm - a few sane people try to convince a single USSR main (non-pilot at least skill wise) that the plane is a gift by gaijin and needs an uptier for Ground RB…
At least it is entertaining…
It’s more like players are not happy when their secured kill that comes with RP/SL benefits turns into nothing than a missile waste.
Being petty and denying kills is really easy in ARB.
You don’t have any idea what you’re talking about and funny enough are a perfect example of the below
I see this different:
- Alone the attitude to ask for a reward for doing nothing (=no damage) is a sign of missing the point of playing a PvP game. If they are not smart enough to get a kill or damage before a crash it is always the fault of others, or a lag, low fps, bad connection, whatever.
- Getting kills became so easy if you know what you are doing - asking for a participation reward because being near an enemy is the same as expecting a “hot” date in case a top model uses by accident the same elevator. Being near means not that they get a “shot”. Assuming that gaijin would give out free SL/RP is a delusion.
To give an example of average skill deterioration and easy kills:
Details of a victory 1 vs 7 just by killing the last 2 enemies alive:
In this match (replay link) i flew a JP B7A2 - assigned to a rookie team with mostly US players.
My team got overwhelmed thx to not climbing - my A6Ms were slaughtered just by numbers. 1 vs 7 after 08:40 - a guaranteed defeat. As i was climbing right from the start i was alone at high alt, i dropped my 9 x 60 kg bombs to kill a base, threw the last 60 kg bomb on the respawn area on their small airfield and flew back to my base at very high alt, using an own order to avoid getting blind hunted.
In the meantime 1 Ju 87 crashed as being damaged, a 110 harassed a Do 217 ending in a mutual team kill, a La-5 killed his prop whilst strafing, another 217 crashed on purpose (no idea why) leaving me alone vs 2 Spits with a massive altitude advantage.
As i saw their numbers dropping i decided to stay high, accept a blind hunt order against me and let them pitch up. The first stall climbed into me and died after ~ 21 minutes and the second guy (no idea how he was able to get 6 kills, 3 of them A6Ms) went afk whilst climbing up to me and being targeted with an avenger order. He died after ~ 23 minutes.

I mean what kind of evidence do you need to acknowledge that such a win was unthinkable 5 years ago. After watching the replay and seeing that my last opponent was even afk rendered this win even more worthless than before.
-
It is always extremely satisfying to beat the odds and turn around a match, but winning just by making no mistakes is worthless if wins and kills became so easy.
-
That’s why i am not a friend of anything related or similar to a participation reward like mentioned in the parallel thread.
-
Technically seen it makes zero difference if you talk about gun fights or missile exchanges, the very large attack ranges of certain AAMs makes it just more complicated - whilst the average player skill is from my perspective the same…
Have a good one - and happy New Year!

Delusional. There is no logic to be found here. It’s all nonsense. There is no way somebody is this unaware of how the game works or how these suicides, intentional or not, negatively impact the game. I swear you people just show up to shill for gaijin because there is no other logical explanation.
No idea if you just had another bad day or if you are looking for trouble.
Besides a quite reasonable OP you excelled in this thread with a rather hostile attitude towards others - a few examples:
Summary
So i have zero clue why you assume that any reasonable person would feel the need to send a reply to a purely provoking post.
Ask somewhere else. And work on your communication skills…
You’re not making your own image better.
You doing no damage is completely on the other dude crashing and if he didn’t, you’d score damage. That’s the problem.
I don’t know how familiar you are with higher/top tier ARB, but most matches end up being a massive furball that happens on the deck, so someone petty could crash intentionally in a matter of a second if he sees avoiding damage isn’t possible.
We already have “Missile evasion” mechanic, so I’d say in those cases if a player crashes before the missile has been “evaded”, the rewards should go towards the guy that fired that missile.
Lower tier games look to be a lot more complicated to find a solution for though, so I won’t even try.
You too.
Upfront: I mentioned this topic as 1 of 2 examples that discussions about Air RB are (mostly) not centered around core issues as they mainly deal with very specific topics.
My son loves the fast pace of top tier matches and even enjoys tanks - so i am quite familiar with this mess. The players got what they ask for: A massive reduction of repair cost after May 2023 - and as main result there is basically no net-loss possible as soon as they fly a premium.
The flanking measures like 16 vs 16 killed the necessary situational awareness to keep an eye on all possible threats and hugging the ground as countermeasure is not really innocent in the high number of crashes too.
I see your point as some AAMs are almost guaranteed a kill - but as written earlier: Being close to something does not automatically mean that you have an actual result.
It would be great if you would consider keeping this topic in the separate thread - i don’t want to have an exchange about the same topic in 2 threads -(and i have already stated my position there) and i am quite sure that the fellow player @Minimann333 would be happy to welcome another player with such thoughts…
Thx for understanding and have a good one!
