The F3H has recently become a nightmare at its Battle Rating due to the buff to its AIM-7 missiles. It needs to be moved up in BR—perhaps to 10.0 or even 10.3—because it has become absolutely oppressive at its current level. The aircraft is now on par with the F-5; while it may lack some raw performance, it is incredibly maneuverable and possesses radar-guided missiles that are far too powerful for a 9.0 BR. Even the T2 is a piece of shit compared to the new F3H. The F3H needs to be uptiered following the AIM-7 buff.

Yeah, it pretty much killed 8.0-9.7 with it’s AIM-7C’s.
Though quite a few sparrow carriers need BR adjustments.
F-15A, doppler phantoms and the early F-18’s probably should go up as well.
Majority of 9.0 jets can easily defeat this jet in dogfight. At 10.0 F3H will be completely useless, even a 0.3 BR increase will make it face more jets with CMs and better IR missiles. 9.3 matches almost always gets uptiered to 10.0/10.3
AIM-7C is a good missile at it’s BR but it’s not like you can’t defeat the missile by pulling some Gs. Without decompression F3H can’t move up in BR.
Its performance in dogfights is still quite good.
Not that hard to force the enemy to overshoot.
Not to mention that its low speed performance isn’t bad either.
The cannons are one of the best for the BR.
No, more often than not, just “pulling some G’s” still wont save you.
Worse of all, this thing plays against a bunch of jets without any RWR whatsoever.
And if I’m not mistaken, the AIM-7C seems to be resistant to chaff due to its CW seeker.
Not even 10.0 jets can compare to the demons SARH loadout.
And frankly, the F3H right now is just too good to sit any lower than 10.0.

Yes all CW seeker missiles are resistant to chaff but the jet’s radar isn’t. If you start releasing chaff before the jet fires at you then AIM-7C won’t hit you. This applies to all non PD early radars.
These kind of emotional overcorrections is how you lose support for something that makes sense on a base level. The F3H-2 DOES need to go up…to like 9.3 or 9.7 max. It’s not a 10.0 or 10.3.

Yes, its GOOD in a dogfight, its not OVERPOWERED in one and many jets at the same BR can rinse this jet in a dogfight.
No it just requires notching, which ppl won’t know how to do at this BR.

At 9.7 the best SARH you can find is an R-3R, which is just laughable compared to the AIM-7C’s capabilities.

Nope. The jet would be pointless and get fried at 10.0. It would quite literally be the same thing as the F-4C has been for years except worse in most regards. Hint: The F-4C has been considered BAD before these sparrow changes. The UPDATED F3H-2 is, at most, as good as the BAD F-4C in SARH capability but WAY worse in all other regards besides dogfighting
Once the AIM-9 and R-3 buffs are added only then the BRs should be reworked otherwise it will be a mess

They have already said on X that all AIM-9 and R series will get drag reduction. That will significantly buff early AIM-9 and R series

Heck, from what I have seen, even 9.3-9.7 struggles with the demon spam, since they force everyone to hug the deck.

This things performance is quite good.

I can assure you that nobody who’s decent at the game will struggle to kill a F3H-2, buffed or not, in a 9.7 or 10.0 jet
Demanding a full 1.0br increase sounds pretty emotional to me.
Aim7 got buffed so everyone is spamming aim7 carriers, no surprise. And when like 70% of the team is f3h, f3h getting 70% of the kills is also not a surprise.
I played a few matches in the br range and most of their kills were from enemy jets climb up the middle of the map and flying directly at them.
I suggested 10.0, because it outperforms even the mig-21s.
Better cannon armament, better energy retention, better low speed performance, better radar, MUCH better missiles.
The only thing the mig has is speed.
