I have never done a match in the F-14. I dont really have much intention to either.

I am looking at it objectively and not going “Eeerrrr … Aim-54 OP must nerf”

Compared to many aircraft at its BR. The F-14A is kinda weak. Just being carried by 6x ARH missiles that can be defeated with half a brain cell. Just because it faces a wall of premium players that dont know the difference between flares and chaff doesnt make it OP.

Like I said. I’ve been playing the Sea Harrier FA2… and slapping F-14s out the sky with ease. THats my favourite ARH plane at the moment. A 9.7 airframe with a barely functional RWR or CMs but armed with 4x AMRAAM.

I could probably do the same in the Torando F3 with Skyflash if I could be bothered to jump into a match right now

I just got 3 kills in the FA2 flying at 10k ft against F-14s. You dont need to fly low if you fly smart

People were hugging the ground before the F-14As came to the game LMAO.

I don’t remember when people started that correctly but, iirc, they started that when Phantom FGR.2 was meta.

BTW, F-14s can go ways higher BR if Gaijin fixed tons of things such as IR signatures, dual plane.
AIM-54 is very far from historical and requires modeling correct loft profile and the dual planes that allow it to pull 25G.

For F-14A itself, flight model is fine as far as I know but, the very bad modeling of IR signatures has made it very difficult for aircraft with huge IR signatures like the F-14A and Harrier to dodge IR missiles.

Yep, Fixing IR sigs and you could probably place the Sea Harrier FRS1 at 11.7 without issue. But in its current state it really needs to be 11.0

in overall performance minus the Aim-54s. I dont think the F-14A would be that much higher than the Torando F3. If they ever fix BOL. Tornado F3 would probably be the superior of the 2 aircraft and their BR placement would be reversed. Its only the Aim-54 that is carrying the F-14 by the looks of things at its current BR

I just love fact same people are glazing F14 should nto be 13.7 but when its J35XS in question then its oke no RWS, dorito, garbage plane can compete with f14 or even f16.

The universal consensus from anyone I have ever seen on the Forums, is that the J35XS should be 11.0. The only disagreement I’ve seen is 10.7 or 11.0.

I don’t think being bad in the game shouldn’t have any opinions but, being inexperienced generally helps to have a bad opinion.

Either way, my point for the F-14A is to fix/add what is historically needed and then push it to a higher BR with the necessary modifications rather than unnecessarily pushing it to a higher BR.

Just like F-14A with AIM-9Ls, 25G load for AIM-54A.

We can get a late F-14A at some point with 9Ls TBH. Which would be a good in-between option, and a good foldered aircraft.
