The airfield repair zone needs to be much bigger

If not for that bank, I woulda made it…

Why do we need an excuse to land without landing gear? If you have your crew at max, repairing is just as quick as rearming.
Braking is quicker without the chassis.
This is called time economy and offers significant advantages in the game.

So yes. Really.

Sometimes you come in hot.
And besides, on max lvl crew, it is faster to bellyland, and use whole jet as brakes, instead slowing down in air, and using gear , and breaking etc etc…
I never “land” properly ,

It makes no sense whatsoever that belly landing brakes better than using gear at the first place. See That One Korean flight.

1 minute fighter, 1.5 minutes bomber… repair only damage that does not fundamentally disrupt the entire airframe - engine, avionics, small parts of the airframe… I play ARB with a joystick on simplified settings and try realistic settings… I turned off mouse aiming for my own reasons… in these settings the instructor also works differently and when the aircraft is damaged, it does not help the player as much as when aiming with the mouse.

Nice!

But imho realistic is an overkill for Air RB. Use the SFC and just disable the 5 or 6 individual instructor slides and keep the main slider “instructor” at “on” - so you get the benefit of auto-trimming without the performance limitations of the individual sliders.

welcome to warthunder, where it is main style to land on top tier tier jets.
Saves time
Get’s you faster back in air
and you can also xome a lot faster a lot longer towards field

That is the problem with small maps. If there were maps big enought to dry your fule, noone would fly near ennemy airfields and camp there, fights would be in the middle, bombers and attackers could get needed alt and speed. But that is a hole other story.

It is, in my opinion, a matter of style.

Personally, I only do belly landings if my gear is damaged… else I land properly, and take my little pride from it.

It is a nice feeling of accomplishment having landed a 4-engine behemoth bomber on the airfield and only get the “rearm” timer and not the “repair” timer.

I once suggested repair times to be dependant on the degree of damage, with belly landings basically doing severe damage to your plane, but the post was removed.
