Do I really need to explain why this is such a bad feature? There is absolutely 0 reason that simply getting close to a single enemy should instantly dox you, and place a pinpoint mark on you for the ENTIRE enemy team.
You cannot convince be that an actual, sentient human being convince of something so stupid, and then somehow convince in entire team of people that it’s a good idea.
Players SERIOUSLY need to stop just accepting such awful features as a simple part of life.
We already have a realistic way to communicate to your team, that is text chat, map markers, and radio messages. WT’s spotting is just silly and unnecessary.
If it takes you 2 minutes to type “enemy at their airfield” then you have bigger issues you need to resolve. The strange magical spotting mechanics WT has in place right now is just objectively bad.
pretty hot take but I agree.
we can just port air simulator’s marker mechanics but keep teamates always marked like they nowadays.
Most commands would keep workin, when a teamate would request help you would simply fly to their locations (if they use T+1+7 they can even tell who’s attackin them)
AI planes alco count btw, they can spot you like a player would.
That’s why sometimes strike planes at the start of a battle are marked even when a player isn’t near them.
hey!
maybe finally an excuse to fix the “air alert” command, since if the command “connects” it tells you azimuth and ALTITUDE, real piece of treasure the last one.
When enemy is at airfield. What about when you try to dodge 2 AMRAAMs, 3 R-77-1s and 4 MICAs coming your way and you’re trying to tell your team where the enemy is?
The average player doesn’t understand the concept of teamwork, they just want kills for the endless grind. That’s why teammates in warthunder are just enemies in blue
I only play WW2 BRs, but if you use the “Follow me!” Command (it marks your position when used) IF there’s another sim player they respond with the same command.
Team spotting is simulating communications between pilots, and automated.
Team spotting is a realistic feature of automation that takes less work off of the player.
