Throttling the play through SL is bad way for handling it. throttling the progress in tech tree when you don’t win and throttling the progress of seasonal and event tasks when you don’t win also could make sense, but then it could frustrate too much people that they don’t get forward when they loose.
The problem with the game is that it sucks at introducing players to combat mechanics apart from simple movement and shooting, and it expect the player to learn everything on his own, and as you said - people are too lazy to do that in their LEISURE time, so it takes them a lot more time to get understanding on the basics, so they are not focusing on the team win if they are focused on figuring out how the game is played to make kills and not die.
It’s funny that people have issues like this, yet I have all the teamwork I need by merely having the squad target bind set, and looking to see what response I get from my rando with it.
Even with random teams, people used to complain about people ‘spamming’ attack the D point, it’s not spamming… It’s letting you know someone is about, and ready to make an effort.
I use it to try point to the team what we’re doing… Defend the D, is play defensive, Attack the D is to push. Leading for landing, follow me, ping map where I put artillery, and get into the cap.
I don’t expect anyone to be there for me, but I do communicate, I do ping and I do watch for the flank. If a unit is out wide and I see it on the minimap, it’s pinged. If air is up t 6 1.
i think what would help in that situation would be a change of spawn protocol.
as it stands, if you dont choose a spawn, the game will spawn everyone from one spawn instead of distributing them across all spawns.
this results in the lemmingtrain ignoring the other bases on the other side of the map, and the enemy team attacking from the side and rear, resulting in most cases of a mad panic followed swiftly by a loss.
ive deserted many games i see starting off that way, i will fight until my first tank is destroyed, but its usually pointless fighting 1 tank versus 4, and so i quit that game, hopefully to find a team actually capable of thinking and shooting at the same time in the next game.
i recently got banned from chat, simply because the way the game operates and the way the players behave makes me abusive.
say you are in a very light tank, you spawn, but your point of focus is to the other side of spawn, you begin weaving your way through the throngs, then some bozo in a massive tanks spawns by the side of you then just ploughs you right out the way, sometimes tipping you over, because steering is hard right?
there is often no team in the team, there is just a collection of individuals trying to be the first to the kills.
my main beef is the team scoring.
so lets say i make 2 kills and dont get my tank destroyed.
i come lower on the results than a guy that killed nothing but lost 3 tanks.
it seems to me to be rewards for being totally rubbish at the game.
also a plane kill gets a lower reward than killing a tank, even though killing a plane is MUCH harder, with the lack of an aim indicator.
with tanks you get the outline and you get the pen indicator at the target you are aiming at.
you get none of that against planes, but the planes get them against the tanks…
Of course you can. Close the map/spawn window, putting you in spectator view. Hit the “next/previous player” button until people have actually spawned in, and bam, the game will show everyone.
For some reason they don’t load unless you do this, but it works consistently.
instead of those useless tutorials there needs to be a sort of training room and battles against AI that will give them some idea of what the game is about ,not just camping the spawn ,get a plane bomb someone ,die and leave .
Untill WT can slow down the rush to the top migration this game and players games are going to get worse .
Same with funnel maps enemy wait at one spot till you round a corner game over .The maps now are boring .Take jungle on there you had a chance to flank in the hills not now blocked off, Karelia you could get in the hills to defend A and B points not now blocked off all because of players whining about being spawn camped
Actually shit like this has happened to me from time to time lol even to the best tank I’ve got, weren’t going 0-3 in a single match though, it was 0-2, quit then the next match die again without kill or assist. Things usually got better after that.
That’s not what I meant.
I’m saying that he quit after having a below-average match for himself.
That is - he clearly did worse than he usually does and that it was an outlier not worth getting angry over.
You’re gonna have matches where you die thrice without doing anything even if you’re the best player in the world - that’s just the nature of a game with many variables.
I’m always on the team that ignores the goals of the battle - in ground battles it’s always CAP - but do my teammates do that? No - they just camp and wont move their tanks.
When I complain to my team they always retort with… it’s arcade - what do you expect? My rebuttal is… why is the other team capping? if it’s “just arcade” why do he enemies “play the right way?”
What really drives me nuts is when I find out teammates are using vehicles far below the range of BRs for the battle. In a 5.0-6.0 battle I’ve seen players with ONLY reserve tanks in their garage. They were obviously squaded into the battle by a friend.
Why is this allowed? If a player has zero vehicles that fall within the BR range they should not be allowed into the battle, regardless of squadding.
The game where i had battle pretty much to the last guys on each other team, fighting over cap point, capping and de-capping them every few seconds after each other were the most nerve wrecking battles i ever had…but guess what…no matter if i won or lost them, those battles i enjoyed the most.
Because when I died the first time, I was immediatley killed on respawn by bombers that were spawn camping.
Note that I was still active in the game.
Note that there’s still 18:55 on the clock and over half the team has left the game. It’s hard to do anything when it’s you and 4 guys against their entire team that’s still active.
i have noticed in lost games that the losing team has 4-5 maybe 6 players at the bottom with 0 kills whereas the winning team has probably just 1 player with zero kills…
just an observation from somebody hard wired to spot patterns.
