Team killing policy - follow up thread

How is that exactly?

well, people usually teamkill to piss each other off, and adding ad eath to someone’s stats is a decent way of doing so

For the average player and even tryhards,1 single death one matter at all since you got 10 kills positive and more

Team kills happends quite a lot even by accident and you will be surprised of how many times it happends

Have you tried to play ARB at top tier and or anything that have missiles?A missile can change target and hit a team mate even tho i initially locked another dude…am i supposed to be punished even more?
Nah…you already get kicked out for team killing more than 1 time so ahmen

well of course missiles can accidently kill teammates, but regardless of that the “death” inflicted by the teamkiller should not count as “death” on the recieving end

punishing teamkillers wasnt the point in the first place, it was that it would be a wise decision for gaijin to simply not count deaths caused by teamkills
it would be a win win for both parties, a teamkiller who may have accidently killed a teammate does not recieve any additional penalties, while the person who actually got teamkilled does not get a death on his or her stats

A death is still a death bro

yes, and it shouldnt count as such

its like saying you should count team kills as “kills” because technically it is still a “kill”

if teamkill kills arent counted as kills, teamkill deaths shouldnt as well

Despite i liked your idea - have in mind that this proposal should exclude squadded players - otherwise they kill each other when it is clear that their squadmate won’t make it back to his airfield.

Some of these squads do this even today just in order to deny the enemy player the kill - witnessed this today.

On top of that - it happens quite often that troll squads kill each other on purpose - either to weaken their team or just because they don’t like the nation setup or the BR range of the map.

A mandatory 24 -96h ban for every team kill of a squadmate would end this behaviour very fast…

well just - 10 k rp and 100 k sl. inaf punishment. for team killed player 10 k rp and 100 k sl can fix problem. mby some players squad up and abuse it. but in this case perma ban them. 2-3 repetative pattern ,just perma ban.( i learn eng from league of legends sso dont judge me XD )

actually thats a decent point but a ban for that is a bit too harsh
it would be better if somebody is severely damaged by the enemy and a teammate comes in and teamkills, the kill should count towards the enemy who severly damaged him, not the squadmate

it would prevent abuses like this - but for regular damages like crit or just “hits” teamkill mechanic should still apply

Not sure if if you really got my point - and there is a difference between the “severe damage” game mechanic and a severe damage of an aircraft.

The underlying issue is:

  1. If a squadded player is damaged and unable to make it back to an airfield team killing this player denies the enemy player the mission score for the kill, possible daily / special task progress and, ofc, the SL/RP income attached to this frag.

  2. This does not work if the enemy player had scored a “severe damage” on the squadmate (seen in the lobby screen with a +1 kill) as the enemy player will get at least the 80% reward for the kill.

  3. A hit or crit (in your view “regular damage”) is often a delayed kill. If you damage oil or water at low alt your enemy will lose engine power and will either crash into a tree or land in the middle of nowhere.

  4. The enemy player who has caused this damage gets robbed of his efforts if a (squadded teammate) kills him before he crashes into trees or as long as the engine is running (even if he can’t stay airborne) as the severe damage mechanic get triggered just when the engine stops working entirely.

That’s why i mentioned this - there are a lot of players fully aware of such and other things (just search for “ramming” in this thread).

Not sure if you fly more jets or props - but squadmates teamkilling each other is not a rare event in prop Air RB matches. Teamkilling each other prevents crew locks too - that’s why i see a need for immediate temp bans.

The effects on the outcome of matches depends often on the numbers game - so even if those “trolling” guys might be not really decisive regarding their own fighting capabilities they might be useful as bait - or just as spotting platform.

@FlyingSharky

It counts damage as well and not only kills, yes.

You must have done it quite a lot though to get a kick/ban for it in Ground SIM so i doubt that is the only reason for it.

Why not use the range finder to get the ally/enemy info instead?
