Team killing policy - follow up thread

Yeah, they’re accidental but EXTREMELY preventable

maybe just remove teamkills in rb. They don’t help the game in any way

They help in immersion. Its not something you do but its something you know its possible and you need to think a bit to avoid it.

Most teamkills are accidental, but caused by being dismissive of other players or general skill issues

Okay well why arent there teamkills in ground rb if its to help immersion? because it ruins the game.

most teamkills ARE accidental, but if you deliberately shoot at a plane who is 1km away from your teammate, is that REALLY an accident?

It used to have, even in arcade ground, but people were always killing or detracking teammates and now they have removed it completely. (except for bombing teammates)

Some ground players are very nationalistic and childish, it was chaos.

I’ve been a Pe-8/lancaster degenerate for a week or two and I’m surprised I didn’t get banned. I remember the game didn’t even request for apologize when I killed 4 enemies and 2 teammates, within a week iirc I’ve bombed over 10 teammates but each time its a mix of both enemies and teammates lol

Probably tied to the amout of complaints you had, since you were clearly targeting the enemy cluster, some people will be ok with it. I also doubt that 10 teamkills a week would give you any issue, you would probably need like 10 a day, and get manual complaints too

the amount of times you get 3rd partied in a fight will go through the roof if people can just throw missiles into a furball and not worry about TKing

I don’t think it would change much, most people already do that as soon as they possibly can

yeah, that’s probably true, even at lower BRs there are plenty of people that will happily shoot through you plane to kill the guy you are chasing.

Happened today.

I was following a dora with the F8F-1 and while I was shooting it from like 400m 1 or 2 guys dived into the line to head on the dora at the same time.

My idiot teammate was killed by the dora, while damaging me in the process. Luckily, I got the dora kill and just got some yellow damage on the rudder and wings.

Sometimes, if the damage is serious enough, I just J out and give em the teamkill to pay my bill. Or if I survive and win the game with the plane still damaged, I crash into the ground in the very end to make them pay ahah

Ah, yes, cause i surely want to see more people become dumbfified and spam their right-click button till their guns overheat.

Yes, I know it was in the game, and the teamkilling got out of hand. its been an issue since forever

Just make it similar to arcade, if they hit teammates multiple times then they get kicked

Let’s continue to dumbifiy players, real smart. Turning it off doesn’t fix the problem.

Firstly; there is already a thread for this topic you can use:

No need for duplicate threads

This is already the case.

Here is an explanation of how the automatic teamkill ban system works: ( https://support.gaijin.net/hc/en-us/articles/200069301-Teamkilling )

I also recommend reading my most recent replies in the above linked thread here: (
Team killing policy - follow up thread - #934 by Necronomica ) and here: ( Team killing policy - follow up thread - #937 by Necronomica ) to get a bit more understanding on how teamkilling is punished.

  1. it is against the rules to teamkill.

  2. why did the developer add team damage to friendlies if it is against the rules to teamkill

  3. why is team killing against the rules, is it added to the game, and is it punishable through loss of SL?

wouldnt EVERY SINGLE GOD DAMN PROBLEM be solved, if the developer removed team damage…? am i thinking too logically about this?

i dont understand. if team killing is an issue, then why did the developer add the ability to team kill? why are we defending a mechanic that is abused to heavily?

seriously people, tell me why we havnt removed this yet. realism was out the door a looooong time ago. gaijin has more interest in selling you anime waifu tank girls, setting up artist contest to show you how big of a perverts yall truly are, but we defend a game mechanic that causes such a head ache. how low has this bar got to go!

the problem is not that it is being punished. the problem is why is this in the game at all. why make up a mechanic to punish people, that are using a game mechanic, that is breaking the rules? as a rule, you are not allowed to teamkill. yet you have redundancies in place that punish those who abuse the game mechanic you put in the game that breaks the rule.

why, does this not sound dumb to you?

…in Air RB and SB as hordes of rookies play recklessly.

The linked thread by @Necronomica show the main points:

  1. Friendly fire is the result of wrong decision making regarding target identification and is an essential part of (aerial) warfare - that’s why a Kuwaiti F-18 pilot has now more air kills than 99% of all USAF/USN fighter pilots (he downed 3 USAF F-15 Es) - or why the A-10 is infamous for killing the most (US) friendly troops.
  2. Team kills in wt are the result of friendly fire - either by reckless & careless game play or malicious griefing (like denying base bombing or eliminating a competitor for the first place) or plain trolling.
  3. As Ground RB players are somehow special gaijin had to remove friendly fire from their mode - Air RB has this feature as is teaches responsible game play - same as the crew lock if a player crashes on take-off
  4. Without damage to friendly fire you can block shots or missiles from team mates on your target to deny them a kill / scoring.

It is imho not defending a mechanic - if you read this and the already linked “Team kill policy” thread you find out that most mature players don’t want to accept that the mode Air RB (which is basically Air AB+) gets dumbed down even more.

I mean if it is too hard for some players to hold their fire in Air RB or SB modes those players should not have an impact on the majority of players who manage to play the game without killing friendlies.

It is imho clear that the game in itself (outside niche modes like SB or Naval) is tailored to earn money with kids - so you have to accept that kids behave like kids.

Our daily life is already afrected by actions of others - that’s why you can’t open windows in hotels or your office building to have a smoke or just a breath of fresh air.

I agree with this and your following remarks.👍

I do agree with this request and see the current way gaijin handles this as not satisfying as the team killing fines are too low and temp bans happen way too late - without a really effective deterrence nothing will change.

But imho gaijin is not really interested in fixing that.

From an economic perspective they want players to play the game; if they temp or perma ban too many players due to team killing too early, they lose (at least from a statistical pov) money as those players won’t buy premium products.

And technically seen gaijin benefits from team killing - the SL penalty for the team killer is reducing the player progress and the victim loses all (sometimes paid via GEs) boosters.

Regarding (harsher) punishment ideas:

The goal is to temp ban RB and SB players faster whilst giving them the possibility to play AB modes in order to stay attached.

Have a good one!
