Su-33 doesn’t have capabilities to use guided weapons. Even on a Su-33M there is no confirmation of such capabilities, only rumors.

For advanced functionality with those missiles.

For the basic SEAD role, particularly in a naval sense, pointing the nose towards the RWR ping, raising the nose and firing is all that is required.

Or do I need to explain Vietnam SEAD tactics to you as well?

I know there are many players who enjoy flying the SU-33, but one recurring frustration is constantly being uptiered and facing opponents equipped with FOX-3 missiles. It’s understandably infuriating that the SU-33 itself doesn’t have FOX-3 capability in the game

any sane person in the game knows that facing Fox-3s while using Fox-1s is a pain in the a$$, it’s not especifically just a Su-33’s issue.

This raises the question of why the SU-33 is left at a disadvantage in its current state. The aircraft feels underpowered in its current BR when compared to its contemporaries

If the SU-33 is moved to BR 13.3, it would justify equipping it with R-77 missiles (similar to the SU-34, which is also at 13.3 and has access to R-77s).

Su-34 doesn’t have access to HMD and has horrible maneuverability compared to the other Flankers.

The SU-33 is a carrier-based aircraft with a unique playstyle that combines excellent maneuverability and decent weaponry. However, in its current BR bracket, it often feels overshadowed by planes with superior missiles and better radar systems.

Historical and technical accuracy should be considered. The R-77 is a logical addition to the SU-33 based on its real-life capabilities. Ignoring this undermines the immersion and realism War Thunder strives for.

1. WT is not 100% accurate and realistic, i think u should already know it
2. prove it can carry R-77 or don’t say it can carry R-77

Balance across BRs is crucial, and leaving the SU-33 as-is creates an unnecessary skill and equipment gap when facing FOX-3 opponents.

so toptier shouldn’t be skill based?
u must have skill at toptier, it shouldn’t be point & click adventure like many people say toptier GRB is.

Engines don’t offset the weight increase. Canards only make Su-33 loose energy even faster. Only real advantage is 2 more missiles and digital RWR (which is not necessarily a straight upgrade, skilled player can notch even with SPO-15, while not having huge deadzones above and below the aircraft). Su-33 is strong 13.0 but don’t try to sell something with false advertisement.

Su-33 still gonna loose in a dogfight to most of the competition and Su-34 has significantly better radar (nowadays Su-34 is 13.7 anyway, so this is irrelevant)

F-4F ICE has access to AMRAAMs, same as Tornado F.3 Late and AV-8B. No matter how cracked ER is, if i can notch and pressure you at the same time, while you can’t - i win. Same goes for radars on AV-8B and F-4F ICE. Again, not saying that Su-33 is not good, but you are overblowing its performance.

Never found myself having issues past merge with Su-33; to the point id say there are few 13.0 planes that it struggles against - F-2A comes to mind.

Never found myself having issues dogfighting Su-33s as well, even in an F-4J. Just don’t show R-73 your rear and they are easy 1 flare. Other than that Su-33 will just bleed all energy in 1-2 turns and you can do whatever you want with it.

just multipath, that’s what i do in Su-27SM after launching 4 R-77 and switching to R-27ERs.

it’s skill based, if it wasn’t u would have lots of people dying against the most trash missiles all the time.
notching is not ez as it looks, especially in the current state of toptier and Fox-3s.

and again, if there’s no evidence that the Su-33 can carry R-77s, it shouldn’t get R-77s, nor go down to 12.7, it doesn’t deserve 12.7 at ALL.

the best option is to increase its BR and add R77 for me personally.
