Probably because the Hornet has much better CAS weaponry and a targeting pod.
I can admit that the BRs are too compressed in genetal while also still believing that the Su-30MK2’s CAS specifically is not that special or broken like some people like to claim.
Will they make the prem Swiss Hornet 12.0 in ground then? Because it can only carry 3 Mavericks and one low quality thermal TGP, you can carry 4 Mavericks, but you sacrifice your 1st gen TGP and you are forced to use the awful thermals and zoomed in FoV of the Mavericks and the Hornet still has 0 defensive capabilities, just 2 AIM-9L and 1 AIM-7P. As a matter of fact, the prem Swiss Hornet is way worse than the American one for CAS.
The game’s battle ratings are too compressed. It’s undeniable lol.
I think the issue is the aircraft also at the same BR though. Like the Tonka GR4/SLE at 12.3, Heck, even the Su-27SM is 12.7 and is largely onpar in terms of CAP but weaker in CAS.
Half the issue is compression, the other half… just feels like ground BRs are decided by lucky draw more than actual balancing
Seeing as the Swiss premium Hornet already gets handheld over US/Canadian ones in air, I condider the worse CAS loadout karma.
Su-27SM should be better at CAP.
Problem is that Gaijin puts a lot of weight on fox 3s. Same as with the F-16A ADF, F-18C and Mirage 2000-5Ei.

The Su-27SM gets the ability to take 2 extra R-77s and should have a better flight model iirc.

even then the Su-30MK2 should be at the same br as the Su-27SM in ground since it has a stronger A2G loadout (more ordinance) as a tradeoff for having worse A2A

My main gripe is that some people in this thread make it out to be super OP in terms of CAS and how 30MK2s are “wiping whole teams”. Oh no some TV guided AGMs, so scary.
l mean even an A-10C will wipe whole teams if the AA players are too braindead to shoot back.
That is probably hyperbole, but I do find it suspicious that the Su-30MK2 seems to be 0.3 lower than it probably ought to be in both ARB, ASB and GRB.
obviously, duh.
in fact, F-4E and F-4J/S carry similiar ammount of missiles, so realistically, it should be 12.3 - and coincidentally, R-73s are also found on MiG-21 Bison at the same BR! Its a no brainer.

Uhm no, yak38 is absolutely dogwater compared to the harrier GR1 man, the yak38 is a damned meme xD r60s are also pretty poor for rear aspects bar unless u somehow get a free rear end.
A10 is more egregarious as it has access to more payload, as well as 2x 9L which are wayyy better than R60Ms.
So slow they get shot down by 8.3 SPAA xD
