Storm Warning - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Yes, was on Dev. F-15E, Typhoon and Rafale are 14.0

I never looked, but probably 12.7 in ground.

I see.

It’s closer than most, however the IRCCM, range, and manoeuvrability of the Python 4 are still quite a bit better.

It has the exact same IRCCM type tbf and manuverability is closer then youd think not as high ofc but its joint for sure highest G pull non TVC missles afaik

Range however im unsure, lots of sources state mach 3.5 on AAM-3 some say Mach 3 and others say 2.5 thats more of an @Rowiek or @Fireraid233 question

PL-8B will be a monster in terms of range, probably only surpassed by R-27T/ET if it was added right now.

Chinese pilots complained that it didn’t have amazing maneuverability for shorter range shots though, saying that HMD wasn’t much use when the missile would launch so fast off the rail.

I was meant to talk to that guy who said Derby is only supposed to be used so that all pylons can mount it, but so can AMRAAMs, doesn’t really make sense.

Yeah, I figured.

I haven’t actually read anything solid on the Python 4s IRCCM, I was just going off what people have said, however the AAM-3 should have around 50-55g’s of pull, whereas it’s around 70 for the Python 4.

Python 4 in the files has both memory IRCCM and gatewidth.
So it’s AIM-9M + R-73/Magic II/PL-5EII in terms of flareability.

Jesus christ. It’ll be a short range monster.

Yes, I am aware. I was talking about in real life, however.

Think imaging but not really, it’s kinda hard to explain.

It operates in IR and UV spectrums, just like an IIR missile but without the imaging part.

I still don’t really get it, but thanks anyway.

Dual-band multi-element seeker? I think it might use DSP as well for flare rejection.
It’s what the PL-5EII uses in real life, Python 4 should be similar.
TY-90 uses this type as well, but not as advanced.

Yeah, PL-9 as well.

Of all the “equals” the Python 4 pulls ahead of the pack, as cool as it would be in game it will kill dogfights.

This is (presumed to be) a Python 5, so more maneuverable but not by much

That’s just straight insanity

It literally brute forces the turn with thrust alone and also ten million different control surfaces, no TVC required.

The most insane of missiles.

If like current gen IR missiles such as IRIS-T, MICA-IR, AIM-9X, PL-10, Python 5, R-74 etc. get added in their real-life state, they’re pretty much impossible to defeat unless you preflare.

But for gameplay reasons I’d imagine Gaijin will reduce their IRCCM performance.

I’d be fine if Gaijin never added their real IRCCMs.
