Next Major Update - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 1)

Thursday most likely. Then not another one until next week probably.

Gaijin likes to do one Devblog then wait a little to build hype.

If it is and no teaser/dev stream this week. I wonder if they are just skipping the dev server this update or if its coming early Jan instead

You don’t need a POD on the Su-34 though because the KH-38 has a Gen 3 thermal image (don’t know if that accurate to real life considering there poor thermal imager developments in real life)

Mavericks and GBU can take upwards of minute to reach there target of which may have smoked or moved behind a building in that time. KH-38 can be launched from let’s use 15km as an example and reach the target like 3x faster than CAS from other aircraft. I’ve watched a Su-34 launch a KH-38 at me refuse to blow up to my SPAA missiles and then hit me within 10secs at a 14km range. GBU you have to stay lazing the target and because sight stabilisation doesn’t work past 20km it’s very buggy and sometimes won’t work at 14km so you have to laze the targets within pantsir range and you get shot down because the bomb takes 3 business days to hit the target 😂

Su-34 can do what it wants as a CAS aircraft unless the pilot is brain dead. They can sit out of range of all SPAA launch a missile that the time to target from ranges like 20km is like 20 seconds. It is OP and if you say “muh F-15 or muh F-16 is better CAS” you are literally coping. They both have bad tpods mavericks have a limited tracking range so most of the time lock onto the floor. GBU have to be constantly lazed and the glide bombs can’t anything and are point lock weapon useful against stuff that doesn’t move. And the time to target for all these weapons is like a slug in comparison to the KH-38.

Yes the F-15 and F-16 are good but the Su-34 is better and it’s much much easier for it to do it

As it does.

Well supposedly last update didnt affect this ones release window so I guess we’ll see

i leave here a comparison table made by general lee and the PL-8B file made by him with all the information and sources avaible in the internet for this missile. also am gonna put some comparative videos made by him too for you guys to see how the PL-8B is much likely going to perform.

really doesn’t look like they’ve used any passed to dev examples

Yup, very surprised there wasnt even a single dev post today or monday

actually, it’s just 60% faster than MAVs, and it can only fire at fixed location in 20km like mavs. it’s seeker is almost same as mavs(in target acquisition), and it will also be intercepted by SAM.
you are describing a non-existing missile

going to part 2 without any dovbleg

The Tomcat update is a sudden drop, so, maybe

Not quite true. Mavs dont have IOG, the KH-38s do and its really strong.

That is very helpful. PL-8B literally is a minecraft arrow lol.

yeah, I often ignore this, it’s not very useful but is an advantage. 40% less hit time is powerful enough

Yup

  • Higher speed (meaning less time to target and less time for the target to react)
  • IOG (massively reducing the effectiveness of smoke)
  • continuous motor burn (means more likely to hit a moving target)

all give the KH-38s a notable advantage over the AGM-65.

Though I think the greatest advantage of them all is just that the Su-34 doesnt have to deal with Pantsirs. Fired off 3 PGMs the other day at a Pantsir, none made it to target

I’m still angry about the brimstones. Gaijin really could of given them basic F&F capability.

not massively I think, maybe 1 in 3

seldom see a mav can’t hit a moving target, it still has enough mobility for a tank target, unless fire at a Heli, usually it’s the AGM-65D’s HEAT warhead problem, or too slow so enemy get behind something

Depends on what is smoking. If its something that can smoke and move quickly, then its more reliable. If its something really slow, say, a CR2, then its much harder. Also decent warhead size means it can splash kill light tanks and SPAA.

They can, but where AGM-65 or Brimstones have a short burn time and then guide onto target using that energy, the KH-38s just continue at the same speed. If the target is moving enough, it will slow the missile down and if its at the further limits of its range, then it might be enough to defeat it.

Its just a secondary buff that is worth mentioning

but mostly its the really short window to react to them that make them the most deadly
