Stop punishing Sim players for team mate incompetence

Next time the radar bugs and pings everyone as an enemy, I will record it and send it to you. :)

And before you say something dumb like “skill issue” I have plenty of games in sim, and understand exactly how it works.

Lastly, no it’s not on me. I don’t have enough time to use the radar to IFF, and that’s IF, and a big IF IT WORKED.

I made plenty of effort to see if he was a friendly, pinged his position in the map, asked 3x “follow me” and had no response by that time.
Also, he was at tree top level on an attack path bearing down right on me. I am not going to merge in a MiG-23, let alone, go head on into a possible missile.

I did not deny bugs exist, I just agreed with Schindibee that I’d never encountered a situation where I could blame “faulty IFF” for a TK. At least not in the past few years. It’s not something I’ve heard among other experienced players in sim I’ve interacted with. So I seriously doubt it’s a common issue.

Then you know that there are plenty of ways to IFF? I don’t believe in the whole “I play more sim than you, therefore my opinion matters more”, but if you’re trying to make that point I have more than twice your time in sim.

So let me get this straight… You don’t have enough time for:

But you have enough time to:

(There’s a chat cool down too btw)
Do I need to say anything? Speaks for itself 😂

Also I don’t know or commented about this certain mig23 instance you’re referring to? I just responded to your post

I think a 10 mile radius is too high, and a 3 mile one should be the absolute maximum if this were to be implemented. I’d also like a way to make the AI identify itself, because it currently can’t do anything. These situations are made worse by captured aircraft, especially once you get into missile ranges.

I’ve been on the receiving end of that, using T-4-1 and T-4-2 numerous times while being radar locked and periodically flaring, yet I was then teamkilled because a teammate ignored those signals.

I’ve also noticed and been told that IFF isn’t 100% reliable either, which is a weird thing to model.

i mean yeah, my idea was to give airfields a 10-15km ground radar that let you know a enemy or a friendly is near the airfield for br such as f4 and mig23.

data link is not what i mean but more like a aircraft transponder for allies.

the more you go up, the mode the radar of the airfields are biggers, the more the aircraft transponder is faster: exemple with a f4, the aircraft transponder will update position each 5-7 sec, but aircraft like su30sm or rafale, it will be updated every 0,5 sec.

  1. Most bugs occur past the 1 hr mark in matches, I’m not sure what triggers it but it’s been like that for years.

  2. I never said I played more than you… I literally just said I have more than enough play time to understand its mechanics, etiquette, and its players. Just as how most people use some form of eye tracking / Vr, both things sadly unavailable on Xbox right now.

  3. Chat cool down isn’t that long, could I have swapped to radar immediately? Sure. But given my MTI mode is now automatic, and I cannot force it to swap, and it wasn’t swapping to MTI pretty much that whole match, there was no way for me to get it to perfectly work in that moment. I also fly stealth most of the time.

All to say, sim is bugged to all hell, they need to actually fix it instead of implementing OP spaa and general changes that make sim less profitable.
Its non sense that due to a bug, the player is penalized, or due to uncooperative team mates, the player is penalized.

I mean given modern radios, the range is quite high… I guess it could be limited to:

5 mile range
30 sec cooldown
Identifies Ai friendlies.

Lasts 5-10 secs

For sim top tier I also suggest Combat Identification Panels that only appear dark on your teammates.
Could be a decoration too.

Teamkilling is on nobody other than YOURSELF dont blame the person you killed.

If you have IFF on radar, USE IT.

Voted other:

Maybe a system that calls that says “allies nearby” with a max range of 5km or so for jets, range changing with BR, or similar would be useful, similar to how Rangefinding IFFs allies in Sim ground

That is a very narrow minded point of view over an issue that is long over due for a rework.

You don’t even try to understand the circumstance, but rather just blame me. Neat.

As I said before:

Lastly, no it’s not on me. I don’t have enough time to use the radar to IFF, and that’s IF, and a big IF IT WORKED.

I made plenty of effort to see if he was a friendly, pinged his position in the map, asked 3x “follow me” and had no response by that time.

Thanks to the MTI issue of it being automatic now, it’s harder to get to work.

Also, as for polls, I’m kinda amazed you voted against a “check for allies” radio control.

That’s what is in the 2nd poll.

Top tier 14.3 could be like 10km
13.3 could be 8 km
12.3 could be 6 km
11.3 could be 5 km
10.3 - 7.3 could be 4 km
7.3 and below could be 3 km

I would genuinely enjoy that for ground, helis, and air.

I rarely see people communicating in Sim (ground and air).

I think its important to have a mechanic to force identifying allies positions without relying in bot like players.

For top top tier you have datalink and radar to know allies positions, from trash technology top tier to low tier it should be like a radio voice that tells your coordinates and then another radio ai voice contest you if any ally nearby.

Yes - though IRL if you do not ID or have IFF failure to ID does not fall blame on the agressor. For WT especially seeing that YOU CAN NOT RELY ON VISUAL ID DUE TO COPY PASTE.

The game in it’s design relies on communication but for most chat is ignored, other have chat disabled and then we are not going to mention the haphazard responsiveness on radio quick messages. I at least radio ping but refuse to enable chat until war thunder has got a better approach to curbing slurs in chat.

The system is flawed. Seeing that the game holds everyones hand in every other regard a quick radio action with auto response is not a bad idea. Either that or WT gets back to pre 2022 and enforce a team play mindset.
