Stop punishing Sim players for team mate incompetence

It’s also a broken mess.

Voice chat (like radios irl) in simulator battles would solve any problems. There is a topic about it but it hasnt gotten enough attention. Perhaps that would be a better option.

OP this is clearly your fault and you’re playing the victim and blaming your teammate (whom you team killed ) for not responding to chat.

Have you ever thought that he might’ve been new to sim and not known what’s the norm? or maybe he doesnt have chat on. You cant just rely on your teammates to communicate to you in war thunder especially when your plane has systems that can verify Friend or Foe.

on paper this sounds good but i would NOT want to mic up with the average warthunder player

@Morvran

Did you just vote opposite of everything I voted because you have a burning hatred for me as per usual? You do understand I’ve noticed your trend, and stalking is against ToS

Simulator players are not as toxic as realistic ones. Plus you can always blacklist someone not to hear their voice chat. There are a lot of games using such methods. WT is not the only game with a toxic player base.

It is not my fault, nor will I ever accept the blame, in the real military, id love to see you get away with that kind of mindset, you wouldn’t, your plane would be a burning wreck.

He was in fact not new to the game at all.

MiG-23ML at 100m, with mti not engaging is a helluva hard thing to identify an friendly no?

i more meant hearing an f18c early player in their living room with a vacuum on
knowing gaijin they would implement voicechat without a mute function

I’d much rather not hear little kids screaming, a vacuum going, or someone munching… it’s a good idea in theory

you literally teamkilled him and are still saying its not your fault, bruh

You had the chance to check if he was an ally yet you chose not to and fire anyway

This would be a great argument to implement AWACS

How did I blame you?

I just said that incompetence can happen in both the attacker and the target, and I even explicitly explained how also myself I’m not safe from that. I didn’t talk about you specifically.

Also as GM I am a player, and allowed to have a personal view and personal experiences with the game. The title Game Master only describes my job as chat moderator. It doesn’t mean “i’m holier than others”.

In my personal view again, yes, if I fire a missile in a situation where a Blue can get into the missiles seeker zone and get targeted and hit instead, yes, I blame myself for not having followed that (again, in my personal view) fundamental rule of “always be sure of your target and any possible consequences of your shot”.

And it does happen that I occasionally fire in such a merged situation and I admittedly have committed TK’s like that.

But I never would have blamed anyone else than myself in such a situation.

Do you think these happen only in WT? Many games use voice chat option with a mute or blacklist button. Simulator games needs this function. Much better than hearing the whole team spamming “follow me” every 2 seconds.

Was focused on someone else, I was being chased :)

But since that’s your mentality…
If you:

Tell the team your dropping a massive bomb from a Lancaster and told them where, you already dropped it and it’s half way to touching. yet they drive to that spot and you get 6 tk’s is that your fault?

Or a nuke, maybe you try to defend a nuke, and your aam skirts around the enemy plane chasing the nuke, and hits the nuke.

Is that you fault? Or the games fault? Or the team?

No no, I mean, there is no friendlies in sight, and someone on your team comes out of no where to take the kill and flys in front of your aam.

I rarely fire in merges like that because of tk’s

after 12.0 we should have all position of team on in the map.

The guy has 251 matches in his MiG-23ML alone.

Overall he has 397 sim matches.

Hm, maybe 12 would be a bit early no? Wouldn’t such Datalink tech be coming starting around 13 or even higher?

And would you give it to everybody or only aircraft equipped with such tech?

Good question.

As it stands though currently it only hurts the players, and that’s likely why it’s never been changed by gaijin.

Same.

The only lazy one here is you for not putting in the miniscule amount of effort to IFF… It requires a certain sense of self entitlement to expect people to IFF themselves to you through a radio callout that isn’t even meant for that function… You are responsible for IFF’ing people you decide to engage, you can either scan them on radar, check your RWR, look at the shape of the plane or merge and see if a name pops up. If you’re too impatient or lazy to do so, don’t expect people to adhere to your made-up rule.
