If I played exclusively America you might have a point, but I play both Germany and the US, among others. In my experience any shot that I could have made in the ADATS I can make the the FlakRakPz 1. I still use it in my 12.0 line-up becase I have yet to unlock the FlaRakRad.
(Yes i know that the stat card says the missile is slower, but it hasnt made much of a difference)
Are you being intentionally obtuse or something, players don’t even use the LJDAM on the EF, they use the 500 lb Paveway, ̶w̶h̶i̶c̶h̶ ̶b̶t̶w̶ ̶A̶m̶e̶r̶i̶c̶a̶ ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶a̶c̶c̶e̶s̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶n̶a̶l̶o̶g̶u̶e̶s̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶b̶o̶t̶h̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶i̶f̶ ̶i̶t̶’̶s̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶h̶ ̶a̶ ̶g̶r̶e̶a̶t̶ ̶w̶e̶a̶p̶o̶n̶ ̶U̶S̶ ̶a̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶i̶t̶(̶b̶e̶a̶t̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶ ̶w̶h̶y̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶’̶d̶ ̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶t̶h̶o̶s̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶s̶t̶e̶a̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶m̶a̶v̶e̶r̶i̶c̶k̶ ̶o̶r̶ ̶T̶V̶/̶I̶R̶ ̶b̶o̶m̶b̶s̶)̶.̶
I would take 1 maverick on each pylon instead of 3 brimstones or 2 paveways per pylon in a heartbeat, for me the F16A at 12.0 has a better CAS loadout than the EF, as I’m sure for many others as well.
EDIT: America actually doesn’t have analogues, only laser or GPS guided bombs, not both, which i suspect is because they already have proper FnF like maverick so it’s not considered necessary.
What do you use it on that you prefer the LJDAM over the 500 Lb Paveway IV?
They have the same payload, you can carry more Paveways, they fly further, and have no drop limit.
So in what world is the LJDAM better?
Theyre easy to set up, you dont have to expose yourself to amraams and spaa, theyre cheaper, and i dont have to wait for a lock thereby exposing myself for longer than i need to.
Not direct counterparts, No US airframes have access to a GPS/INS + SALH guidance option even though they do exist with the the E-GBU / DM-LGB (Paveway IV), or L-JDAM variants of respective stores.
Also The Paveway III series is missing lofting and other range extension methods, and utility features.
Yeah, you’re right, but i think that’s because gaijin considers the FnF options like Maverick and TV/IR guided bombs to be better already so no need to add them, while for the EF they’re actually better in most cases than brimstones.
I’m not saying they shouldn’t be added, more variety is nice, but i don’t see the point of using anything other than FnF, especially at top tier and with rearming being a thing.
Probably random variation and the meta settling for the patch, or BR adjustments being made taking time to have their impact.
I don’t doubt that the (relative) trending of the collected values are a fair approximation of the true value. But the scale and position likely aren’t but that’s due to the incomplete dataset.
Again, if you’re talking about the Eurofighter the Paveway IV does what the LJDAM does but better, so i don’t get your obsession with it.
A plane with a targeting pod and FnF will kill enemy tanks and SPAA more efficiently than any laser or GPS guided bomb ever could, because you don’t need to pray the target moves or keep lock on using laser guided weapons, you dip up, lock, fire and dip back down into safety, that takes 5-10 seconds, no SPAA can kill you like that.
Or even better, if there’s a lot of targets just fire all your ordonnance and do CAP after, best use for Rafale and most US planes
13% change is just too much to be random.
I don’t remember BR changes affecting top tier tanks, 2A7s are still where they are and are still dominant vehicles. US haven’t received better M1s nor did their tanks drop in BR.
Laser guided weapons like Brimstone can be used as a quasi-FnF, as you just need to fire them in the general direction, pop out few seconds before they impact and guide them to the real target.
Yeah i know, but that’s not the most efficient, it’s better to just get in close (<5 km) pop up, lock, fire and just maneuver, the litening 3 on the EF can track just fine, problem is if there’s a strela or heli with aam nearby you’re kinda fucked by going that close.
I have a common sense score to back it up.
Something will not just go from depths of hell to nearly average in the matter of 60 days if their vehicles are indeed that terribad.
Im not saying that Helis are the bane of my existence just that Pantsirs are a joke once you get close, their missile have no maneuverability at close range and are easy to dodge (this is in huge part thanks to the EF being a UFO).
It’s that i die more often to helicopters laying low because the only way to know it’s there is to hear it, at which point it may be too late if it has a good aam + somehow ka50/52 autocannons are better aa than the ADATS.
Fair enough, they are a pest but i typically have a 9M queued the second i hear that kamov buzz, my main gripe with the pantsir is the inconsistency with the proxy fusing, i’ve kinetically evaded a lot of missiles only for them to explode behind me, severing critical functions like rudder or elevators.
