State of the naval modes on dev server and after update comes live

So we got first big naval update in 2 years with iconic ships and literally no bugfixes and significant mechanic changes from previous patch.

List of mechanics that didn’t change:

  1. Ammo explosions didn’t do damage to the hull compartments and damage/game points from that didn’t go in to account of the player caused the explosion
  2. Planes still not respawn in formations in high tier battles despite of the trailer.
  3. Shells explosions and bombs still didn’t get hydraulic shock mechanic
  4. Big costals still didn’t get their own respawns.
  5. Small costals still not respawn in packs in high tier battles.
  6. Heavy and Light cruisers now way more survivable against BB then BBs itself against each other.(that’s discussible in terms of balance).
  7. Boats still didn’t get their AA missiles.
  8. Depth charge launchers and rockets still didn’t get useful crosshairs.
  9. Weather is still the same on all maps despite we have different weather options in game. And still there is a lot of maps with haze which no fun. Time of the day in each map still the same too.
  10. There is still no waves and detailed water on 5+ km distances.
  11. There is still no difference between AP and SAP in game play, AP always preferable.
  12. There still no hydroplanes what ships actually have in IRL.
  13. Ships collisions is still bugged. Especially on big ones where you can drag or be dragged by the players or bots instead of bouncing from each other.
  14. There is still slow shell animations on target doll and in hit analysis.
  15. There is still no reworked help(F1) for new Arcade aiming
  16. Small fire or hull breach or module damage on other side of the big ship still enlarge reload for all guns. And enlarged reload didn’t reduced when “fixes” are finished.
  17. Radars is still bugged. And drop the tracked target in seconds.
  18. There still no new maps for big ships.
  19. There still 3 respawns for all ships you got in setup, despite of big differences in efficiency of different types of ships and boats in different BRs and maps.
  20. There still no separate BRs for planes in naval battles.
  21. NAB enduring confrontation is still not really NAB rules.
  22. Enemy tracers is still less visible than your owns in first person view, to the point that you can’t figure out who and from where is shooting at you.
  23. Frigates and Corvets secondary guns still not shooting at destroyers when controlled by AI while their sec always shooting at you.
  24. There still no hotkey for fire with or without secondary guns switch.
  25. There still no torpedoes turn on course system.
  26. There still no sound of the enemy ship ammo explosion even if it right in front of you in couple of kilometers or sound of shell hit the enemy hull.
  27. There is still no test sail with respawning targets when we got air test flight map that totally suit for that.
  28. Time fused HE still explode always before reaching naval targets. So there is no real differences in crew skill that is in charge of it. And still didn’t have time fuse “off switch” mechanics with radio fused ones despite in ground battles we have that mechanic.
  29. Still no underwater hits despite that Yamato have underwater hits designed shells.
  30. Inconsistency in RPM that ships get some get max RPM measured in test shots and some get average in battle reload. It better be max for everyone for the incretions in fight dynamic.

I barely could call this patch really naval focused one.

Besides that you could even test new ships cause battles didn’t start on dev servers due to lack of players when they easily could be started with bots.

Lets discuss.

Not necessarily a “naval” problem, but the requirements to unlock the new battleships are absurd. It’s ridiculous that I need every single ship of Rank 6 in order to research Yamato, or Iowa. That’s 5 or 6 ships for some of these nations! Or, for the US, just shy of TWO MILLION research points, and that’s BEFORE you can even research Iowa.

Other thech tree have the same requirements if number of vehicle is low. Thats war thunder as it is.

I’m aware which is why I said it wasn’t necessarily a naval problem. Its Gaijins asinine progression, but its particularly bad for naval with how impossibly slow researching new vehicles is.

You get more rp in almost half the time for other modes. You’re being distracted by the big number. Getting a lot of rp doesn’t matter as much if it takes you twice as long, usually more, to get it.

Changes are always welcome if they are good and improve gaming experience, in this case the concensus is
1)Bad changes
2)hasty changes
3)un tested changes
4) complete ignorance of well known issues like spawns etc
