State of naval in 2026 and its potential future (POLL)

Once the modern navy is added, those battleships will be so much cheaper to grind. The RP cost will be lower, and so will the SL price.

Assuming that modern ships will be rank VIII. And even then, it won’t be that much cheaper.

I am sure Battleship is going to get dumped to the bottom to, like, rank 5 at least. If only 1 rank higher, it, of course, is not going to make a big difference. Rank 6-9 Can be where missile ships come in the future and will make a huge difference in economy if that happens.

I understand the frustration especially with the horrid compression that is 5.0 - 6.0. The transition to fighting battleships in cruisers and destroyers is really harsh and needs work. But to go as far as to call it the worst mode is a bit exaggerated. Though that might be me just having gotten used to all of it, and having pushed past having to grind out those BR’s

I Like naval. I like it a lot, I can look past the flaws and genuinely enjoy the mode at any BR.

I think the lack of naval community presence/representation among CC’s is an issue that puts naval in a bad light. Most of the big CC’s talking about naval, frankly, don’t know what they’re talking about. I watched Phly’s recent video on naval. He just wants another Battlestations game. That video did not seriously look at naval, he just wants another Battlestations.

There is also a distinct lack of clarity when it comes to the game mechanics in naval, which I again largely attribute to a smaller amount of dedicated players to put these out there. Naval has no equivalent to a bomb chart or missile statistics chart for its many obscure mechanics. And that’s a real shame. Gaijin themselves are also really bad at actually making content around it too. How many new players just don’t know about distance correction for NRB? even when they made a video on how to aim they completely ignored that vital control option

As for the future, there’s a lot more to potentially add, and I’m looking forward to it.

TL:DR
Naval certainly has some flaws, but so does every mode. Naval is not unique in that sense. I think a larger issue is the lack of positive, clear communication about the mode and its mechanics, and the lack of community resources. I’m still looking forward to what we could potentially get.

They are going to have to move the light cruisers to a lower BR and add more heavy cruisers in that BR range which have more of a chance to fight battleships and battle cruisers.

That only moves the compression down to the destroyers. The better solution would be to shift all battleships by .7 or a full BR higher, then add more heavy cruisers and maybe some pre dreadnought armoured cruisers or even battleships in the void that creates.

That will work and also bring the reserve BR to 1.0. Separate battleships and battlecruisers from coastal defensive ships.

Do you REALLY want to see Soyuz at the 6.7 bracket?

Because something tells me brackets will end up getting compressed.

And the destroyer will get decompressed to 1.0 instead of 3.3. We aren’t going to stop adding ship just because of 1 vehicle.

Ah yes, 1.0 pt boats having to deal with a destroyer.

That’ll make the puddle pirates so happy.

And I say this as a straight hater of coastal players since they generally like to ruin bluewater matches.

Them getting blown out of the water is cathartic but it’s only going to drop numbers further if coastal has to deal with bluewater at all tiers instead of 2.3+.

Gaijin might as well as just add new BRs maybe BR 15.0 for the most modern vessels.

Making EC the default naval mode would be cool. Also, giving naval players more things to do, LIKE SUBMARINE HUNTING and potentially carrier ops would be cool. Also, in the current EC meta, there’s a tendency for a team not to destroy the enemy convoy because more often than not, as the ships traverse, it brings their spawns closer to the enemy capture points which I feel is not using the convoy spawns for their intended purpose.

Edit: speaking of naval EC, Improved Naval EC as a permanently available mode for naval battles here is the suggestion about adding it as a permanent fixture.

I very much dislike the current EC. It has a lot of potential but the current version should not and could not replace the normal modes.

NAVAL is too easy mode, that is why there is no game. The worst player in the world can 1 shot you from across the map. There is no map strategy, no aim strategy, no defence strategy. It’s like putting t80bm vs leopard 1 on a flat map with zero cover. There is also extremely high levels of RNG on dmg penetration.

it’s the exact same with top tier jets. There is no game and no skill ceiling.

Therefore adding EC and bigger maps is completely pointless . Just means more travel time, more sailing, more frustration after 1 shots.

Actual modern warships instead of 1910s stuff

So 6.0 to 7.3.

3.3-8.7 ships with guns as main weapons. 9.0-12.0 Ships with mix loadouts 12.3-15.0. Ships that completely relies on Missiles

Naval is boring, some games last 30 mins and all you get is 500 hits on a battleship, other games you get 3 or 4 kills.
It’s annoying to grind, it’s unfun and the ships are too expensive compared to the gains per match.

I would like Modern Naval. Like the Game Sea Power, with Tomahawk and other Anti-ship Missiles, ECM, Flares, Chaff, VLS Cells etc.

This would never work with the WT gameplay in mind, it would be literally hell if not worse.
Beside, no one would bother spending 200 hours plus to grind a ship, it’s too niche for everyone…
