also not a fan of the ‘X pcs’, gets kinda weird if you dont know what mark/variant of gun is the twin, the single, or the quad mount.
gets extra confusing when you have the exact same gun, but in different mounts:
(Yamato: 25mm guns come in a single and triple mount)
(Yukikaze: single, double, and triple 25mm)
(Renown: quad and octuple 2pdrs)
cherry on top:
this sort of thing makes it look like there’s 4 flakvierlings (as in 4 mounts=>16 barrels) when in fact there is just one, which has 4 barrels
For aircraft, the statcard should include empty weight, maximum takeoff weight, and maximum fuel mass.
During the dev stream, wing loading and power-to-weight ratio were displayed on the updated statcard. Those figures allowed us to back-calculate and submit flight model bug reports if the weights were incorrect.
However, for some reason, this important information has been removed from the dev server. The current updated statcard no longer shows wing loading or power-to-weight ratio.
My feedback is as follows:
Please include empty weight, maximum weight, and maximum fuel mass on the aircraft statcard. These are crucial information that would help us identify and properly report flight model issues.
technically still there, you just gotta hover over them
I guess they don’t list them anymore as custom loadouts could make for a pretty messy statcard?
On the statcard, I would really like to see the landing gear and flap limitations, since currently it is only on the wiki you are able to find that information.
Another thing i would love to see on the plane armaments, is that the amount of weaponry does not scroll together with the name of the weapons. Example: 4pcs does not move, but “20 mm Hispano Mk.II cannon” does the scrolling it currently does.
And when they do scroll, that they reset at the same time, so the scrolling of the weapon name is not out of sync.
There could also be a better indicator of which weapons are defensive armaments and which are offensive, because you currently need to hover over the specific weapons to see if it is offensive or a gunner.
And as it was said earlier, there is no indication of how the weapons are mounted. Example, the Halifax B Mk IIIa, it shows 1x 7,7mm machinegun, and 8x 7,7mm machinegun. Does that mean that there is a single 7,7mm machine gun, and then a single weapon mount with 8x 7,7mm machineguns?
The reason for the wasted space, is so where it says Ammo, lines up with the other stats, such as speed, price or RP cost etc…
To be honest, I feel for conventional armour, like WW2 vehicles, the old stats, with the front, side and rear, for hull and turret worked better than the current ones, since it gave you a general idea of what the armour of the tank was.
One of the few things that could be added for the tanks with conventional armour, would be that it takes add-on armour plates into consideration and shows that on top of the current amount of armour, or at least gives an indicator that the vehicle have that armour.
The new stat card does make a lot sense for more modern tanks, where there might only be less than 100mm of conventional armour, but the composite makes it have 300mm extra of armour against kinetic projectile and 700mm against HEAT weapons, because of ERA on top of the composite.
Also I’m personally not a fan of how the new stat card is in the way when hovering over vehicles in the tech tree window, and moving the mouse to the right. I’d say it should require you to right click if you want to actually have that window stay open. it’s just gonna get in the way a lot when you want to quickly hover over a bunch of different vehicles in the tech tree
besides the obvious missing information (weights and so forth) they really should just enable showing the twr, wing loading, hp/w for everyone besides having it be locked behind a dev only flag.
it’s nice that some conditions were elaborated upon, but there’s still issues:
okay… at what weight? at what speed? is this the best sustained turn rate? if so, it’s incorrect because at peak this aircraft sustains a turn time of 22s on max fuel?
once again flat out wrong info, no conditions either… but this is likely more of a deeper fm issue with all flankers having actual flight ceilings at past 20km
I haven’t really looked closely at the ingame statcards for quite a while (have just looked stuff up on the wiki), so I didn’t know that there were those stats on the statcard.
However, it doesn’t say what the flap position is, in regards to the speed limit. From what i can see, the flap position is the landing flaps, but it doesn’t say that ingame. It also doesn’t say what the combat and takeoff flap speed limits are.
Actually, now that I have had a look at the stat cards on the Dev server again. I can see that flap speed limit is something that have been removed from the updated stat card:
I’m not on the dev server, but going by all these screenshots I’m really disliking the “pcs”. I’ve never seen it written like this anywhere else (with regards to military vehicles, such as in in books, magazines, etc).
It also triggers “pieces of flair” (Office Space movie) for me, but that’s probably only for a few people… (apologies if it now triggers that for anyone else reading this)
Pieces of candy
Pieces in a jigsaw puzzle
Pieces of flair
Pieces of gun… uh?
If they’re changing these so radically, they should make it selectable (customisable) as to what is shown on there. Sure have a default to cover most people, but have an advanced option to remove things, or add other things (such as combat flap speed limit).
Things like Takeoff Run … is this important when basically all airfields are huge now (except for legacy maps)? I’d like to remove that to clean up the card a bit.
