pay no attention to the hitboxes before your eyes (listen to the people abusing the op fantasy cope ship, they have YOUR interests in mind)

TBF thats why the snail and the emperor blessed us with the existence of the shimakaze, just to turn everyones experience in naval ec to equally bad no matter what nation youre playing and whatever op ship you might be in. The great equalizer. Hooray! (or something, if it wasnt quite sad actually that theres always gotta be something absolutely busted or possible to abuse game mechanics, well…basically only because they refuse to balance the stuff they put in the game)

Oh there are tons of pending bug reports on the Yamato that got “accepted” ehhh which apparently just translates directly to “ignored” in russian…unfort…

Which clearly shows why “Just wait until it is on live servers, the stuff on DEV servers are subject to change, why is everyone crying about it already” is quite a risky maneuver, when everything that happens in 7 or 8 months after release is making the Yamato not explode from 2000 aa shells stored amidships instantly. BTW, you can easily get onetapped in the Yamato by the OBJ292 dart…try it in custom its hilarious. 7 kg kinetic penetrator (admittedly with enough pen to make it through your main armor belt) into your spaced out magazines -->73 000 ton ship goes “i dont wanna be here anymore” But thats probably because Japanese naval shells all have teleportation characteristics and some are just stored outside of the armored magazines but still able to explode the magazines themselves when hit, or they are schroedingers shells and are both inside the magazines and outside of the magazines at the same time or…they are covered by a whopping 11 mm of armor just above the main armor belt…

Interestingly enough by calculating the explosive mass equivalent in each of the Sojuz’ magazines which (with same amount of shells like the yamato) is much higher because obviously the Sojuz is using shells with a much more potent, mysterious sowjet explosive type. But ofc that doesnt instantly explode a sojuz, what were you thinking??? That just results in some percent of water intake and that turret not being able to shoot anymore (though i could swear some of them just kept shooting after some time but maybe ive just got ptsd from facing sojuz by now)

It’s almost like it has almost double the main belt’s penetration at 2km.

True, i said that it has easily enough pen to go through the main armor belt. Im still willing to bet that theres no way that a dart (after penning that massive 20° angled main belt armor), bulkheads and whatnot (that apparently are missing on the yamato) and other watertight compartments and the (i think someone stated) armored magazines which are spaced out like on no other ship, still makes that whole thing just explode instantly.

But also that doesnt rly matter, its rather just funny, since its basically irrelevant whether the APFSDS to giant battleship interaction is modelled realistically or not.

I’d be straight up embarrassed over the state of Yamato if I was the dev(s) that worked on her in warthunder, personally.

Not embarrassed enough to change anything meaningful about its model in the 8 months after introduction apparently. But you can ofc always just slap a second one in game.

Between you and me; this should have been hotfixed between Dev server debut and Live server.

But developers in general seem to be allergic in portraying Yamato class accurately as Wargaming also makes her a slow, squishy behemoth.

Oh absolutely. Id be totally fine with it being a squishy behemoth in close ranges (where she has numerous giant disadvantages like no gun depression to hit any ships hull that is closer than 2 km, slow af gun traverse, meaningless armor) because yeah then its just a very specialized ship, meaningless for the outcome of close range rb matches, but who takes those seriously anyways? Those are won by who has the strongest and fastest coastals in his/her lineup. But it could still be effective and at least usable in a sniper role, especially in the much better EC mode.

But well not even in this role it is really usable since inaccurate ranges above 20 km with rangefinders only accurate in the km-scale, also stuff like this tends to happen:

I don’t think they care. Maybe they even get pleasure out of it? I say this, given a vehicle that may rival the Yamato in terms of terrible performance. That vehicle, being the Israeli SPYDER AIO added during the summer. From bugged radar, missiles, damage model, everything. There really needs to be a way for players to rank bugs as moderate, pressing, critical, or unable to play the game.

everything just getting nerfed thats russia? thats crazy

Ever heard of the Ki 102 otsu? 12 years and dozens of bug reports after its introduction, almost nothing has been done to fix it.

Yup, lots of bugged vehicles we are still waiting on. It’s just sad that some are released in such states that they can be perceived as being borderline unplayable.

Ahahah i even bombed one of those with a big fat IL 28 single 3000 kgs bomb… 100% to 80%… ok, it did some dmg. With 3000 kgs on your ship, that thing oneshots everything but the Soyuz.

Yeah, even with 1/3rd total ammo, yammy is probably still being one-tapped.

Edit

Here’s Musashi.

I like how people defend the ship ignoring it has a 57% win rate, which no other ship has. And also defend how it’s in game, working perfectly as per design, when no ship in history worked perfectly and every single ship had to have fixes implemented after being launched. But the soyuz abusers think it’s ok to have a ship with impossible armor, accuracy, reload and likely speed. Wonders how far noobs will go to defend the only ship they can perform well in…

I’m gonna be real, the average naval player genuinely doesn’t know how (or at least acts like it) to play the game.

They don’t attempt dodge, they don’t saturate a target, they don’t even correct aim if you start throttle evading or even turn. You will occasionally see someone do this but 9 times out of 10 they don’t bother. Not at high tier, not at mid tier.

I’m almost certain this 57% winrate is because people straight up don’t know how to fight it or don’t bother attempting to learn how to fight it at this point or they just give up the instant they see a Soyuz.

Meanwhile, there’s some madlad killing Soyuzs with a T-14 pt boat.
