South Korea subtree for the USA would be a mistake

The issue is that, even with existing TTs, you sometimes can’t create a strong enough setups to play. All planned TTs look cool and outstanding, but in reality they arrive with multiple gaps, which get filled rather slowly or not filled at all. Maybe someday Gaijin create some other way of implementation of smaller nations with unique tech instead of current subtrees idea, like a folder with tabs, where each nation has a standalone tech tree, but can combine vehicles of nations within the folder.

indeed south korea should go into the japan tech tree.

Still better than SK or China…
If SK or China players are 90% refuse their vehicles in Japan TT, according to what i saw on the forum, SEA players have only less than 50%. Not to 0 but still standable. A temporaty friendly relationship still better(for Gaijin’s perspective) than no friendly relationship.

I can’t find a better analogy to describe this idea accurately to someone who doesn’t know what Japan did in WWII but knows about the Holocaust.
There is even direct military cooperation between Germany and Israel… to a far greater extent than the cooperative relationship between Japan and South Korea.
And SK’s population is 4 times more than Jewish population…

Between 1910 and 1944 Korea was also a colony under a unitary parliamentary semi-constitutional Monarchy.

What do Italians and Hungarians have to do with each other?

All the abuses, war crimes, genocide of all forms, ethnic and territorial conflicts inherited from the colonizers, if you were to analyze all of this, neither India nor SA should be in the British tree… but they are, it is extremely problematic and nobody cares.

putting SK on the Japanese TT would make more sense than on the American one, and that wasn’t the only thing proposed by the post.

It’s a shame that you only read and interpret the part of the post that suits you.

I said that the ideal would be for the Koreas to be a complete nation within the game.

/\ /\ /\

But if the gaijin insists on making a subtree it would make more sense to put it as a Japanese subtree, because it is the only one that has space in the game in addition to making geographical sense.

Japan and the Koreas have had a very complicated relationship throughout history, as you all know, but India and South Africa also have one with the UK… but they are in the same TT.

Difference between Japan/S.Korea and S.Africa/Indian/UK is that South Africa and Indian have/had a military connection with the United Kingdom.
Both countries purchased and used British equipment, have formed an alliance (short period) with the UK and have joint developed arms with UK or the UK assisted them on their own domestic developments. (Same story with other subtrees)

Japan on the other hand has absolutely done nothing for South Korea whatsoever in regard to their military. Neither of them formed an alliance, neither have sold arms to each other and neither have joint developed or assisted each other.

South Korea in Japan would absolutely make no sense, in case they become a subtree it will either be US(though very unnecessary), Israel (weird but logical) or maybe a future solution (Polish or Turkish TT), Also geographical location? I doubt that’s ever applied to any of the current subtrees, so why should it now suddenly be applied for South Korea?

south Korea didnt exist until after the war and it started under US control, so by same logic you use to justify it for Japan, it makes more sense for the US to get it

Japan has space right now, sure, but also has other options to fill that space that are way less controversial. Nations like Indonesia and the Philippines for example would be much better picks here than Korea.

For Korea the only thing they really have in common is the relation to the US, meanwhile ASEAN options could tie in much better with the existing Thai subtree.

At least for China, there’s a lot more options for air. It is, in theory, completely able to stand on its own domestic production without the need for janky subtrees like they’re trying to do with Pakistan shit. Gaijin’s just lazy and prefers to copy-paste stuff.

Are you doing alright there?
Find me a single valid reason that america deserves a subtree, I’ll wait.

Well, For ground, The fact every nation gets their tanks, An entire third of the TT is copy-pasted and even more on the way such as the M1 for China that Gaijin passed, They don’t even get the M8 LAC as a researchable vehicle despite it being their most produced and used car while another nation gets it for free.

If its fine that everyone get American tech when they have their own options why is it suddenly an issue if the US gets something from a different nation they are the closest allies with? Many South Korean vehicles are joint projects or just modified US vehicles and most South Korean’s seem to not want their stuff to go to anyone else anyway so there is no reason why the US shouldn’t be considered.

Like Italia and Hungary…

Last time i checked Hungary has bought and used various Italian weapons/vehicles/aircraft and even licensed produced the Re.2000 which they called Mavag Heja I.

And upgraded variant Heja II.
They also used Fiat CR.32, CR.32bis and CR.42, even changed their weapon to local Gebauer machineguns + Caproni Ca.310 and Ca.135bis. Also while probably pointless for the game, but Hungary also used CV.35s, so their interwar relations were quite strong.
They were both on the Axis side and attacked USSR.
Now they are also quite close, as both are part of NATO and it seems with a joint project of Leonardo and Rheinmetall, I think Hungary will become interested in this project as well, since they already use KF41 and ordered KF51.

because the U.S basically defends south korea, and gave them all of their tech / vehicles, etc? the K1, Black panther was literally built using U.S Help.

K1 isnt the black panther, thats the K2
and K1 is literally an abrams derivative ofc they got help lol
