Kinda gonna side track here, but could the same system be used for tank’s?
An example I’ve experienced a few time’s was when an enemy player see’s me turning my turret towards them and they j out right before getting shot. (while within bout 10 ft).
Only problematic thing might be a player already looking at the enemy but eh. Tank grind’s to long as is.
I do this … sadly there isn’t a good way to implement a punishment system or a reward system. I personally use Jing out to avoid CAS or being a light tank that is screwed.
I have been noticing that the most ridiculous requests for changes in Air RB come from clueless tankers flooding Air RB without having an idea how to fly, fight and contribute to match results as they are almost exclusively on selfish grinding tours via base bombing and look for a cheap way to get more SL & RP for doing nothing.
No offense, but if you suck at Air RB it is not a “them” problem, it is a “you” problem.
Asking for a participation reward (like being rewarded if an enemy crashes nearby) is strange enough as outside pure 1 vs 1s at prop BRs it is often impossible to determine who fired a missile which forced an enemy to dodge and subsequently to crash.
Asking for a punishment of crashing players outside repair cost and eventually crew lock is fine for me if we would also punish plain stupid player action like stall climbing into enemies, crashing whilst strafing ground or losing matches despite playing 4 vs 1.
This sounds reasonable - but it has the inherent flaw that you try to connect wt and reality. These are 2 separate worlds.
Imho the only guys asking for “real” manoever kills should be the guys playing the niche mode Air SB - the rest is either playing Arcade modes like Air AB and Air RB and can’t refer to reality in the first place.
The design setup of Ground RB enforces intentional crashes to deny further SP for the enemy player; not hard to get this.
If you are able to develop a system able to differentiate between intentional and crashes by accident and consider also lang range (= 40-60 km away) AAM attacks which forces players to notch - make a suggestion.
Imho this comment nails it:
Same here - i don’t want to have rewards by just being alive and facing enemies with some issues.
A few days i received an important phone call and had to look up some documents, so i went into spectator mode before even spawning.
I came back 10 minutes later with a loss - but i got the 5.000 SL reward as sole survivor… without even spawning. Just embarrassing.
The game is clearly aware when a missile is fired your way, we know this due to the “missile evasion” text that shows up when you manage to get one off your tail. Some slight refinement upon that could work.
It’s just annoying when someone does this. Or simply decides to find out what dirt tastes like instead.
Sure, firing a missile off doesn’t take skill and all of that but it was his misplay and should take it on the chin instead of being petty.
The crashing one could simply be limited by distance. Keep it as it is unless someone is within… 2km let’s say? It’s just annoying getting on someone’s tail and they deny it like that, or making a plane pull for a shot that makes them slam into terrain.
It doesn’t happen every game obviously, but man is it tiresome when it does. Not game breaking or anything like that, just generally awful behavior that could be somewhat mitigated.
Imho you missed my whole point: The question is not if a missile got a lock - the question is by whom at which distance, and which one forced the enemy to evade and to crash.
If i watch replays of my son playing jets (in sensor view) it is not uncommon to see 6-8 missiles shot at the last enemy from various distances - so do you want to share this non-existent kill with 5 other guys? I mean at least in theory there is a possibility that 3-5 of those missiles could be defeated…
See above.
Have in mind that such a mechanic is giving credit for just being there - and such mechanics (like weather) are usually introduced in all modes and all BRs.
Imagine a ground pounding P-47 strafing ai ground units and random enemies crash around him because those guys blacked out at high alt and ripped their wings. Why should he get random SL/RP for just being there?
So even if i see players struggling with the grind - it looks rather unlikely that gaijin (which takes every opportunity to reduce player income) would say:
I think players being gifted kills they didn’t earn is more annoying especially if the nuke is available. So you bail out of a plane and some random guy who didnt fire at you but was nearest gets a kill? WTF? Meanwhile I cant get an assist on a tank I gave a critical hit to.
Yeah well since we already have it. It doesn’t break the game. People aren’t dropping nukes often so your edge case scenario is largely irrelevant. And it’s absurd to only have it in GRB.
Not that this even matters because as another thread points out your nuke planes can’t even do anything a lot of the time. They’re big, slow, bad handling bricks with no ability to defeat any munitions. As is the case that just happened to me with a pantsir knocking me out at ground level 8km away while trying to drop my nuke.
That doesn’t mean they’re getting them because a free maneuver kill counted for them because they were close. And doesn’t change that it’s already a mechanic, so if gaijin makes it good for the goose, then it’s good for the gander.
This business of awarding free kills is in GRB and it sucks. That is my point.I have ditched untouched planes and some guy gets a kill and I have had planes crash near me and I got the kill. It never used to be the case.I also get hit by a single bullet doing no harm and then five minutes later when I bail the guy gets the kill.
And you don’t, since it gives the kill to the person who did the most damage, or was closest when the player left the vehicle. The same thing exists in air RB when you J out, but not when you intentionally crash.
This is the usual claim from a tanker who has no clue that this mechanic is also implemented in Air RB.
This whole thread deals with crashes of undamaged aircraft.
I am not sure why you feel the need to repeat the fairy tale of maneuver kills - if you would play Air RB more successfully you would know that these kind of kills are extremely rare.
Regarding “close” - the pure fact that you were close does not imply that you will get a “shot”…just imagine a top model enters by accident your elevator and you a have a 1 vs 1 - try to argue why you deserve a reward for that.
Have in jind that this “crash no kill” works not consistent and you see from time to time people leaving undamaged aircraft without any reward given to nearby enemies.
The BTD which left his plane at 02:52 granted no reward for an enemy player.
This list was from a thread dealing with more or less the same issue…
