That system is impossible because…
Rewarding players for doing nothing and punishing players further for making a mistake is bad game design.
There’s a reason zero games on the planet use your idea.

they dont care. you can play a full game in air rb and get 0 (maybe 1-3) rp while dogfighting the entire time. I’ve had this happen countless times. its a joke. if they have removed things like proximity multipliers, they will never bother with this
Fast idea (it might have some flaws but it’s a starting point)
If you launch a missile into an enemy and, before it hits it (granted, guidance must not be lost) the enemy crashes, you get a % of the kill (let’s say 75%) and the enemy gets a 25% reduction of the SL repair cost
Alternatively,if you get into a dogfight (you get under X km on an enemy for Y seconds minimum),you still get the 75/25 split rewards/reduction
There’s a very good reason for this. Its one of the many ways gaijin makes you earn less RP/SL
2 things we should push.
Another thing is, you can’t blame people for doing this in this state of the game. Maps-bad, MM-bad , teams -you see squads TK eachother if they don’t like the match, you play minus 4 people from the start.
But, never underestimate connectivity issues (ex. last month they are doing some work in my area… 1 on 3 games is DC. And never underestimate player error …that’s why we need proximity/action. Because all that is waste of RP…any of the reasons good or bad.
Not every crash is a mistake though.
Like the first post says. There has been an increase of people purposefully crashing when they realize they’re about to be killed or find themselves in a disadvantageous position.
How fair is it that you manage to outplay someone but right before getting the shot or your missile hitting them they flip over and pull into the earth? They figure “Ah I’m already dead, might as well deny the other person the reward” which honestly blows.
Maneuver kills are also a pretty big thing. If I manage to make the other player try to pull into a shot that leads to them eating dirt then some amount of a reward should be given.
I do recognize that accidents happen and those cases are hard to filter from the ones that are intentional, but that could be mitigated by adding a distance limit much like we have for the J’ing out mechanic.
All but my bathroom breaks and family/friend emergencies are mistakes.
I don’t want credit because people make an error in judgement; I’ve had enough participation trophies in my childhood I don’t need more as an adult.
I will leave a negative review if War Thunder became the first game to implement this idea.
On top of all that this is easily exploited by getting friends on an opposing team in the EC modes and farming frags.
A much better solution is to demand more rewards in general.
If you want improved time rewards, go for it, demand more RP-SL per minute; it CANNOT increase frag count though or otherwise artificially inflate stats.
What are you talking about? If your concern during a family emergency is someone getting credit for a crash then your priorities are heavily misplaced.
Lets imagine a scenario. You have just managed to outplay someone after a hard fought dogfight. They are low, slow and cannot get out of the way of your guns, pretty much a done deal and only a matter of time. However the other player noses down and crashes, leaving you with nothing. Fun right?
Or you’ve got a missile off on someone and they can’t flare or notch it. But oh thank god they are close to the ground so they can just nose into the dirt. They still die in both cases but you are left with less RP and SL. Meaning they still have the same inevitable outcome but only you get shafted both times.
I love the “anti player” term when it would help the player base instead of harming it?
Oof, ouch such a daring personal attack with a hint of projection.
Someone who, with full intent, decides to deny the kill is not a victim. They are a sore loser.
So in short, proximity of let’s say 3km for low tier and 15km for high tier.
And for missiles… eh. If it’s a 9b/e, only a few bomber’s can’t dodge those so no reward.
9J and above should get it if it’s within their range. (Be kinda funny to launch a 9L at a guy 15km away and get a kill lol)
Make a video game that does that, see how successful it does.
Spoiler: Psychologists say it won’t work.
Thanks for the input alvis. Duly noted
Alvis you speak of nonsense. How often does that really happen.
what does this utter drivel nonsense have to do with my post…
A suggestion for a possible proxy kill system:
If an opponent has a target locked with the X button, and the target ends up crashing, then that should be enough for consideration of a maneuver kill. This way random crashes 50 km away will not reward someone unrelated, and people that are actively fighting someone that crashes will be fairly credited.
Can add a minimum separation requirement to fine tune the system.
In a case of multiple people having the same target locked, award kill to closest player.
This kind of system will be able to work for all BRs, not just missile BRs.
Well, with the A-10A being 10.7, it is fully possible to face a player who (flying a Lazur-M) hasn’t bound flares yet. With a heat sig like that one, 100% possible to, in theory, get a 15km kill with a 9L/M
Addon to yesterday’s comment: the MiG needs to be on full burner flying away from the A-10 (MIG IS NOT MOVING, idk how) with an IRCCM lock (A-10 needs to be at its ceiling) then you can IN THEORY get a missile kill FROM 50 BLOODY KILOMETERS
I mean, at that point i think the a10’s earned it lol
Thats kind of his MO I keep seeing him do the exact same thing on many posts just ignore him and he’ll go away. (I’ve sent in a report to staff against this guy same as one other player I know.
@KaizerLeviath
If you want more RP and SL, this isn’t the way to do it.
Actually demand better rewards in general instead.
This feature isn’t a good idea.
