No you are, based on what I’ve seen you want helies to do the following:
Outrange SPAA
Not get penelized for missing.
What could possibly be bad with helies at this point (if we implement your usggested changes)? there would be no cons. SPAA cant hit you but you can spam missiles as much as you’d like.
I’m guessing you’re talking about alouettes who fly towards the battlefield without a second thought, or helies who hover in place. It is very unlikely to hit a heli who knows what theyre doing beyond 2.5km, which almost all helies can do at that BR and still get kills.
I don’t see how youre missing by maneuvering, I don’t see why i have to explain this, but the heli optic is stabilized, the only way youre missing is if you turn the nose of the helicopter away from your target, which you shouldnt be doing.
Also counterpoint, no its not a W, its just stalling for time. Blocking a shot with youre armour in something like an abrams wont save you if you’re breech is shot out (which the gepard effectively is due to being outranged) it will only stall for time.
They are actually, the ones that actually see the mistakes theyre doing and avoid flying too close to SPAA.
All city maps works, and forests and rocky ones can work. Plus the always existing clouds. Though maps like Mozdok… it’s painful enough to play as ground in it,
I’ve tried it a few times and frankly it’s no better. Bullpups handling gets a lot worse after exceeding some > 6km range. Yet 6km is about the max range of EyeBall Mk1, so it’s no better.
And outranging by MCLOS is simply the result of training, the same skill applies to gepards as to not show his position by tracers (credit to a guy I killed through thick fog under 1km clouds. I had 0 idea where he was but he shot and not move), reposition and hide (Make the plane lost visual and/or ofc, waste one of the 3 bullpups targeting you and preventing you from popping out again), and to suppress or just click planes down. Less people are willing to practice SPAA anyways.
funny, it wasnt the reverse bug or anything, I was just stading there repairing my track and the 35mm apit(aphe) hit me at the frontplate and killed me
Then there is something goofy about the first screenshot you posted.
The hypocenter/focus of the explosion REALLY looks like it is at same level as the middle of your barrel, which is obviously well above your UFP. You did mean UFP when you said “frontplate” right?
I’m not saying you are wrong - you were there. It’s just that explosion shot seems off then.
