I mean yeah ig in some cases it can be hard to hit it, but The bombs drop rate and curve from a 45 - 60 degree angle is quite slack from my experience, simply learning how to estimate a little further range seems feasible, but idk ig ill test it more thuroughly.
Either way the gepard is still fairly balanced by most means, I dont know if you read many of my previous messages but yea. I feel like I’ve said my part as to why it shouldnt need to move up in BR drastically
For 1km, yes, that’s possible. You might not know how far 3km is. And this is for a 3km diving situation. It is hard to find a ground target and identify which one is SPAA, and even though it’s from a Test drive.
I’m sure that even players who played over 10 years for CAS can’t make sure that he can drop bomb and direct hit a target far from 3km(if the targets are still moving)
And of course not only for Gepard, any SPAA with radar should move up at least 0.3
I was shocked by him when he said it easily by dropping bombs from 4km without CCIP/CCRP I don’t even need to check his record to get to know how many times he played for CAS and why he is so confident.
For most players who complain CAS might not know how hard for Cold war BR ranges CAS’s situation, even from 6.0 after Gaijin added tons of SPAA and SPGs
I agree, these 8.3 SPAA are way better than the 9.3 - 9.7 IFV/EFV and its hilarious. Keeping them 8.3 - 8.7 just because “they are anti air bro” is dumb.
Imagine this: what if a new IFV came out and it’s a LAV-25, then it’s probably going to sit around 9.3 since it has a dart, right? Ok and what if we replace the 25mm bushmaster with, let’s say, the Gepard 35mm gun. What would it’s BR be? 8.3? Or even lower cuz it has no radar and has no dart? Does the dart even matter when the 35mm gun just nuke every tank it comes across by spamming at cupola? See my point here? It’s so stupid lol.
Dart on auto cannon doesnt mean crap when it still cant pen tanks frontally and the post pen damage is so piss poor. Writing this out I also wanna point out the IFV at 9.3 - 9.7 should come down, they suck
The only thing we could do is move up Planes aswell
So move Gepard to 9.3 but also move g91 and f84f and everything that surrounds it to 9.3-9.7 in Ground rb
Okay after testing it that’s fair, but staying low behind ridges and bombing an anti air from low was quite consistent, and there are plenty of CCIP and bullpup wielders at 8.7. So sure I suppose you can move the gepard there
You are describing SPAA across every single BR except 8.3
lower BR SPAA doesnt have a gun that can pen tanks. Top tier SPAA just sit in spawn and throw missile everywhere. They both cant do anything to tanks and yet people still play it.
This is mostly a fault of volumetric and other spaghetti code shenanigans, as cupola hitting irl isn’t going to nuke much but the commander. The gun itself in terms of ground performance ig is 8.7 in terms of anti ground if its APHE is made more realistic.
It would only contribute to what the gepard already do honestly, maybe slightly less nuking, but they would see lighter armour making it easier to be annoying. But again, it mostly boils down to compression as most issues do, fix it and this whole discussion becomes much easier.
Never have I once said this, tank only mode sounds goofy, but I don’t support it because I know it’s not helping anyone.
Yea and that’s what I am arguing for. Even you think that the “fixed” APHE behaviour of these auto cannon SPAA should be at 8.7 then why is the currently broken APHE that’s nuking everything only sit at 8.3?
As the things currently are, the 9.3 - 9.7 IFV/EFV and 8.3 - 8.7 SPAA should swap places.
It’s just not fair that some vehicles BR are adjusted based on one aspect while they excels at another
I think the actual problem is as a result of how gaijin does penetrations and probably the way data is handled with their server side registration. high RPM weapons seem routinely penetrate things they shouldn’t. but gaijin is also to incompetent to fix it and too lazy to care.
I quite frankly dont have much of an issue with the APHE since it only has about 58mm of pen, Russian tanks are immune to it everywhere except the lower armour belt on the side. Even most NATO tanks can soak up enough to be able to get a shot off and killing the SPAA before it finds a funny spot in their armour. APHE balance would honestly make the SPAA completely moot against tanks if it’s actually implemented as APHE irl, which behaves almost identical to plain AP.
Then again we may never know, since the community hates giving up their broken abuse machines
Edit: I forgot to talk about light tanks, but they’re vulnerable in most tiers to even some 20mm SPAAs
1100m/s is actually quite decent and pair this with shots you cant see is quite deadly. Tbf I cant test if the overpressure was fixed properly.
ever heard of a radar and a laserrangefinder?
thats not rlly the point here, but you shouldnt move them down since seeing more superheavy tanks wont help and frontpenning somone with an autocannon is also sth you dont want ingame, if so just move it to 12.0, there you have japanese paper tanks like the tkx and type10, which you can frontpen.
I think its atleast good most light tank which are at 9. sth are there simply bc the mbt´s you will see do have stable guns
