If only having one pack vehicle is the sole cause of ODL then giving single vehicles multi lives would cure it.That is in Gaijin’s hands.

The issue is , as ive stated above, its not just the premium users, you have people at top tier with tanks that to even have them they must have got through and bought the previous tanks! still ODLing.

Initially it was due to the economy, the fact you didnt earn enough, and SL costs were waayyyy to high, on top of that there was also the issue folks had with maps and team compositions, hell people used to leave when they seen germany and russia on the same team.

I actually was one of the first people to suggest that Gaijin gave multi spawns to single vehicle pack owners like you get with the M51 when starting Israel. I am not claiming to be an inventor but I was certainly up for it .I also suggested the Tiger pack idea of making duplicate copy past tanks more interesting to collectors although not as an expensive premium pack. I am trying to come up with answers for this.

The cope paste premium packs are incosequential to most folks, the multiple tanks in one folks were moaning about as always, complaining when someone tries to make a difference.
The M51 getting 3 spawns is a fantastic idea as well, which if they even gave vehicles 2 spawns each rather than one, before using the backups then that would also help massively for many folks.

Could make a 2 tank lineup into a four tank lineup effectively.
See that is a genuine solution to what is a problem in the game.

I don’t agree with ODL but I understand why it happens and why people do it.

I understand why people used to do it, and im aware of why people say they do it now, but I suppose I’ve also experienced so many folks that do it as well just to maintain a KD or SL balance that its plagued the view I have of it.

Paying players are customers.If they are unhappy then the game needs to get to grips with it.

The biggest issue is the wales / paying customers are the ones who do it, like folks that buy a prem, use automated gameplay mecahnics aka bots then sell the acc.

If a customer in a restaurant is unhappy with the food do you hit him with the soup bowel or improve the food and service? Why call to punish players?

Depends on the customer, if the customer is one who repeatively goes to the resteraunt to complain then they eventually get banned or charged etc. The call to punish players from me is of those who repeatedly leave almost every single game with one or no deaths.
That contribute nothing to the team or dynamic of the game other than to serve as fodder.

I just stopped for two months for the first time in four years. My conclusion is that I find the game to be a drag after 5BR now.I could say that is just me but I no it isn’t.

See I thought as well too, then changed my attitude towards it a bit, now I can happily go grind out the M1A2 sep if id like, or leclercs etc but im playing where I actively dont have to try hard to beat the oppositions, which sits at around the 6.7 to 9.3 area, primiraly the 8.0 bracket.

These people have been playing for 12 years with 30000 games and they are off in a huff.

Yeah the folks I know who’ve played for that long are saying theyre leaving due to the ODLing and the stupidity of the teams, those same players are well aware gaijin are not a great company.

Like I said,the maps and the removal of cover pissed people off.

The maps were absolutely worse before this, as I said, they used to be able to camp up in a spot and usually pin down one side of the map from one camping spot.

Its not just ground in this game.
CAS is a bit of an issue in cartain brackets , top tier its a shambles but I told you my stance on that.

But look at air, want a genuine reason to leave?
We have massive compression, the ME262 going toe to toe with the F86 saber, or mig15 which is now the same BR as the meteor Mk8.

or the fact the F104, mig19, arietes, yak38s etc etc at 9.3 need to move back up in BR but cant because the players just headbutt missiles from stuff like the A10 and Su25, WHICh also need to move up.
But gaijin flat out refused to.

So the compression from 10.3 has now compressed the full roaster at top tier all the way to 7.0.
Lets not even touch the ARH slinging EF2000s sitting at 14.0 when realistically we could see 15.0 to resolve the compression through a massive area.

I play France a lot and I liked the 5.7 line up.It made you think about things,like using cover.France had a full range at 5.7 including premiums and I had them all .At 6.7 when I played there was literally one tank and it is a mixed bag especially un modded. It was unaccompanied so I played it that way.This game just feed players reasons to ODL it really does,that is my point.

Okay but france has had two more 6.7s for a long time, that being the amx-13 and the M26 which was added a while ago.
If you mean when you played the amx M4 ages ago then Yeah that is different there literally wasnt a lineup.

The “bocage” was laughably removed form Normandy 1944 which is a famous battle based on hengerows. So may maps were reworked or destroyed depending on how you look at it with big rocks just dropped. We had the red gate scandal with narrow maps and all the edges redded out so you blew up if you wondered into them.How did you miss all this bro? How do you expect new players to find good posts and get used to the maps when they change them all the time.Stuff is getting moved daily or it seems like it.

If as I am hearing that Gaijin are giving multi spawns with every pack plus a few crew skills then that is a step forward.

If I wanted to spend cash and skip the boredom and drudgery of Cold war,buy a nice T80 or M1 premium as I have considered often then I may well get my ass kicked and ODL it would have to be and often,for a while anyway,if I only got one respawn. Who would be at fault there?
Is it a crime to want to spend and go to the era that means something to you? Especially as Gaijin allows it.

Narrow maps I was here for, seen it on reddit as well, voiced my opinion on that though.
The normandy map I havent seen the changes, I’ve not had that map in god knows nearly 2 years I reckon, also Ive found so far, one post complainging about the maps, one demanding they be reverted and one topic which was a poll saying what people wanted. ones from 2023, the other two 2024.

As far as im aware some maps at least at higher BRs are barely changing, thats part of the problem designed for ww2 tanks and using 2000 tanks on em.

Hardly, look at my stats for say the amx30 and 30 super, or the Megach 3 for the US and T29.
I bought them together back when i first started as I dispise the lower BRs as ive done it enouhg, 9 years of wot… ill say no more there.

So i uptiered the amx30 to the amx30 super BR, and the Megach 3 with the T29, and then evetually sold some event stuff, spent a little money then got the T20 and IS6 etc etc.

I usually would at least have something to bring back into the match because i realised how important it was.

got my ass kicked right enough but was fun at the time.

It could be said that WT died as it tried to be all things to all men(and women).
We have to face it,Japanese games are in a class of their own ,you either love them or hate them. Some people buy Xbox, some buy PlayStation, American vs Japan and that is just one example. So who does War Thunder bow to ?

Actually a bright white tank is killer in the Sweden game ; ) Best camo you can have there

I have had some killer games that started so badly I nearly quit.Something to be said for sticking it out.That is a low mid tier mentality though and wanes in a full line up of unmodded 7mph WW2 rubbish VS fast fully spaded 60 tanks firing ammo with 300mm of pen a BR above me.Sometimes its all too much even for the most optimistic.

In all honesty for me i tend to stay vetween 6.7 and 9.3, only going into 10.7 and top tier when im feeling up for it.
While it is actually playable the pace is a lot faster as well as less forgiving (unless youre in a Leo2a7 or STRV122+).
But yeah as much as I enjoy it, 12 v 12 teams would be better IMO.

Youd probably be surprised, a lot of folks who dislike modern gear say that high BR and top tier is unskilled or less skilled, its absolutely not, it can be just as difficult if not more.
It comes down more to positioning, flanking and response.

If you dont pay attention to a flank (like prem tards dont) then you get absolutely sweeped up and quickly. in the lower BRs while it happens, and can be somewhat swift its no where near as quick as in top tier.

I will admit to having a freedom of choice bee in my bonnet as far as this game is concerned. I also know how disadvantaged I am on console and have developed a few ways to survive many of which have be hoovered up by Gaijin over the years.Its one size fits all now.

How about no CAS for the first 10 minutes of what is supposed to be a ground forces centric mode? Not saying eliminate cas entirely but would be nice to have a few minutes with getting bombed or strafed in the first 3 minutes of a battle. Also remove the cheap Kamikaze play from GFAB. If they kill themselves by slamming a plane into a ground vehicle then it should count as a death to them as well as the player on the ground.

Yeah yeah I know it’s a combined arms battle mode but then why label it as GFAB or GFRB?

I don’t enjoy leaving after one death but the game pushes players to that. I have several “one tank maps” and have just added North Holland to the list. It’s among the most boring maps we have with a single mind numbing corridor of attack in a city. Come to think of it, I might start not spawning on that map at all.

No it does not. I like North Holland map, and other players will like it. I don’t like Vietnam, but i play it anyway…i putted it on my dislike list so i rarely get it…

Game pushes players to different game maps and modes and balances…and it is IMPOSSIBLE to make everyone happy. Regardless of anything else many players will only be happy with 5+ kills or more…and someone has to die for those kills…so someone will ALWAYS blame something not “between chair and keyboard” for their deaths…it is human nature.

Think of any face-to-face team sport…there will always be someone annoyed at the game, venue, opponent, own team…particularly at the referee!!! Social pressure and sanctions prevents ODL in face-to-face sports…and the absence of this pressure is what makes players ODL in internet games…and they will always find a “reason”.

Game can only mitigate it…can be better or worse…but most players in these topics will NEVER be happy…

well said, those reasons tend to be pretty poor as well. Even maps I do terrible on, and dispise the map (even if I think its really badly designed) i dont ODL or leave flat out.

They genuinely need to do something about it at this stage though, high tier, not even just top tier now, is decided most the time by what team has the most people ODLing. The game is based around lineups, always has been since i started about 5 / 6 years ago, never have I seen gaijin actively encourage people to ODL, If anything the oppoisite, (crew lock was a punishment for actively leaving a game early). However now, people seem to believe that its more efficient to grind, and theres no such thing as team.
Genuinely a system like was in older online shooters would function well to mitigate the ODLers.

This is what happens when you create MM based game badly. Having too much variety where players cannot reduce said variety to more comfortable zone will always lead into unsatisfaction. And then you combine it with almost no restrictions and you successfully created recipe for disaster.

We need decompression and map fixes as well, but people try put the blame solely on gaijin which is just untrue, and unfair for the company.

This is a match im right now!! our team is losing purely because we had so many people just leave early OR not even spawn AT ALL

That is an intresting statement… One of the Root cause of zero or one death leaver is the broken map rotator…

Good for you when the dislike filter is working on your settings …

When i put dislike to North holland , Middle east and Jungle to not play 8/10 time on that maps and thanks to map rotator play 9/10 on that maps in row…
happend when i disliked the north holland to able to get a different map and 5-6 time in row i got North holland map… after i decided to take a short break in Warthunder.

So please help me which kind of setting needed to ‘dislike’ function work and rarely get marked maps?

Never has that happened to me, not in such a manner, you also need to take into account that more people dislike other maps and that also comes into the equation.

Its a poor excuse to ODL man, theres not really any excuse for it, Like the game ive just shared, Me and 2 other guys literally won the game, if we had just left with 2 deaths, hell if even one of us had bailed with just 2 deaths we would of 100 percent lost that match.

If people realised that working as a team even in a scaffolded way works better than playing only for themselves then the game would be in a far better position.
I get gaijin have issues, some maps suck, compression etc, but the players are also to blame xD this is the same playerbase that literally chased Gaijin off of reddit for being so insidiously toxic and just terrible. So the players are also to blame, hell it was the players that started the idea that ODLing was more beneficial to the grind, and to your SL as back a few years ago it was literally tens of thousands to repair some vehicles, unlike now.
Now adays people just ODL cause they dont wanna play that specific match, maybe its a map they dont like, or an uptier. and boom gone.

You cannot put ban on offenders until there are restrictions on lineups you can enter battle. If player with one tank can enter battle and he dies, you cannot put ban on him because he technically cannot continue battle because he used all of his vehicles, which is basically example of players with premium vehicles. They would have to change premium vehicles completely by either selling them only as lineup or not allowing you to buy them until you are in range. Second option would be like shooting yourself in foot from business perspective. First option would depend on price of said pack but selling single premium for 80 euro is more lucrative for them then selling multiple for same price(I highly doubt that pack with 3 vehicles sold for 200 euro would sell anything). And if they do not solve premium players then punishing other for leaving after one death would only change behavior of those players to switch to single tank lineup so they would not get punished like others so they would just increase pool of single tank lineup players. And putting ban on player that enters with one vehicle is ridiculous as it is. Why would you even allow him to enter if you know that it is not allowed.

And just enforcing to have more vehicles also is not solution as I can simply take one tank and other slots fill with planes meaning I can get rid of SP fast or I would not be able to use it at all. Then they would have to implement some complex system and now we are certainly in places where Gaijin will never go as this does not benefit them.
