The main thing I hate in new maps and ‘reworked’ - is the amount of trees/obstacles with BS hitbox (larger than should be) and red zones to prevent flanking.
Good job on the poll by the way.
Rework for me is make them much much larger and have a map version for all sesions. Spring, summer, fall and winter.
The lower the BR the smaller the map can be the higher the BR teh bigger it has to become with more overhead cover and so on. Remove all box/urban maps. They are utter trash. Just squares on a flat surface, that is the most lazy one can get.
I voted for “stay” if I only wanted minor changes.
For many maps, I want them to be reworked back to before gaijin removed the better flanking routes and rat spots through red borders. For example, Carpathians:
You used to be able to get into the dip in the northwest corner of the map with an AA and have a much better ambush position, but now it’s all blocked off.
On Flanders, buildings at northwest and southeast corners of the map are both blocked off, ensuring SAM SPAA don’t have adequate cover.
Jungle had the south flanking route behind the rocks blocked off first, and all the vantage points came next.
Maginot Line had the east side flanking route completely removed, and it should make a return alongside a small rework so north team can also get there without being shot at getting out of spawn.
Alaska, Ash River, and probably more maps have awful layouts where 2/3rds of the maps are blocked off and everyone is forced on a narrow strip of playable area. These layouts should just be removed altogether or the playable area greatly increased.
Yep, that’s a good one too. The hill that offered close combat and a decent vantage point is inaccessible, and the positions that countered it also also largely useless now.
