I mean, the new TADS/TEL systems are great, I actually prefer them over single systems, with exception to the Pantsir simply because Gaijin decided to buff it by showing everything it picks up on radar in the HUD, which all SPAA should get…
As of right now; the NASAMS is really decent from what I’ve see, but the Type 03 CHU-SAM (Japan) is basically a ‘baby Patriot’ having better speed and maneuverability with shortened ranged due to the Japanese ‘Self Defense’ doctrine that’s actually slowly being phased out, but it’s easily one of the best TEL/TADS in game, and will be until the patriot

The errors are piling up one after another in this message, Baghdad was never close to be the second most protected in the world. Baghdad had a very dense AD by regional standards yes but look at the quality of it, it was mostly export grade SAM and downgraded radar/ECCM, and far weaker integration that you cant compare with the soviets, even the east Germans and some other WP countries operated higher spec and less downgraded versions of Soviet systems that Iraq ever received
And as for the Iran iraq war it gave Iraq experience yes, but mostly in attritional trench warfare and not the high tempo integrated maneuver doctrine Warsaw Pact armies trained for in Europe. Again, it cant be compared

Would any russia player (preferably with multi nation experience) be willing to give me a short rundown what specifically makes the BUK so bad that its performance completely stinks compared to other ARH SPAA like the SAMP?
It is not bad, it is incredibly good lol. You can notch it but that’s not special to the BUK, you can barely multi path if even at all sometimes
That is what im trying to figure out, because just looking at the specifications there is no reason why its peformance would be this bad
Its radar performance is not very good, probably same other radar at the BR of 11.7, but in other aspects, it is completely OP，far surpassing other vehicles.
