No, but solid state in radars has that meaning. So just corporate blabbering with funny words, that in practice means nothing.

So, got the Sky Sabre unlocked. Still mostly stock (so no CAMM-ER yet) but initial review

  • You cannot shoot down recon drones
  • Shooting down incoming missiles is a flip of the coin, you need to fire at least 2 CAMMs per missiles
  • The radar just sometimes doesnt work. especially if the target is low ish to the ground and the sight lines are wierd. Its like the radar isnt at the top of the mast, but like half way up.
  • Helis just have to drop chaff, instant defeat
  • The Seekers on the CAMM feel like a C&P of the Aim-54 seeker and just instantly defeat
  • The minimum engagement range feels like 2-3km, which prevents you from dealing with heli rushes
  • You are so massive, you get spawn sniped on nearly every map
  • Half the time, it doesnt let you fire (gives a warning about obstructed launcher, even though its not)

Let alone the fact the UI for the radar panel (which it seems like you have to use) needs an overhaul. Gunna write a dev forum post for multiple major changes needed for it

It means almost nothing directly
the only thing of value to pull from that is GaN which is only used on AESA (and jammers, but i’m pretty sure CAMM does not have a jammer)

They needed to say something but I suspect anything they say beyond that is classified lol

CAMM seems strange, I was firing a few of them off and they only went into tracking at ~600m for the target, and flew considerably lower than they should have been missing the target without evasive maneuvers.

Yeah, their guidance is totally bugged at the moment

What gaijin need to do is fix heli thermal problem
They need to give helicopter there proper Doppler effect from the rotary blades
And at last fix magic field covering helicopter

Specially since they added fnf to all the major nations now and gave then force field that is not getting fixed in a billion year atleast give them proper Doppler effect

Yeah, helis having a much stronger radar signature would help so much

Atleast this will make them stick to the ground and maybe take splash damage as well right now they can just hover and kill all the spaa except manual one but now they gave fnf missiles to almost everyone now the problem is heli cannot be killed by ir nor by arh only option is either the tv guided or gun or atleast manual guided missiles like vt1

Any good heli player was sticking near the ground anyways

I feel sad playing it, and looking at it.
Guess I forgot to pay for the premium explosive, the one that comes with damage, and not only visual effects.

Finally got it to test on live and… first engagement i’m 100% unable to engage a helicopter that’s just… hovering 4.5km out. Actually painful to see.

also base CAMM horrifically over-leads leading to me missing LMUR (very easy targets!!)

Yep. Its the same trick that allowed Harriers to just ignore ARH. Hovering = notching

They need to give helis proper PD signatures from their rotor blades

Well, nah.

Brilliant. So our “modern advanced SAM” has 30G missiles that can’t hit helicopters, can barely hit missiles and fixed wing jets (not at all if they dare to be below 60m altitude), and has less range than every other SAM added this update.

I expected them to fix all this on dev
